Hello All. I’m headed to Berlin in 2 weeks, and wanted to take advantage of the VAT-free shopping. There have been many posts recently about the VAT refund in France (approximately 10%), and I just wanted to confirm that the experience would be similar in Germany.
I note that there appears to be 1 Hermes store in Berlin, in addition to KaDeWe carrying Hermes products (although, can anyone confirm their selection? it might be limited.)
I know that Hermes processes their own VAT refund in-house, which can take several months to receive… but KaDeWe appears to be able to process GlobalBlue refunds in store. That probably comes with a greater fee to GlobalBlue, but it might be nice to have the refund instantly :)
If you can’t speak to Germany specifically, does anyone else have experience buying Hermes at other European boutiques, and using their alternative processes for VAT refunds? I’d love to hear your experiences.
