I sure won´t be affected… CC will always be extremely expensive for brazilians due to the depreciation of our currency in relation to euro, dollar and pounds… but, what I think of it? honestly, I think it´s a bit unfare to increase prices in Europe, I mean, at least in France CC should be less expensive, afterall, it´s the brand´s birth country. Just my humble opinion though… XOXO

I’d love for them to keep their prices lower In Europe. But after a conversation with the SA while in Milan and Nice, I know why they increase the prices there.
The SA said each SA sells about five bags per day, usually to tourists as “most Europeans cannot afford it.” As a tourist there myself, I shop there because of the selections, stocks, slight price difference, and tax refunds. Even after price increase, it’s still cheaper for me to shop there.
I think Chanel knows that most buyers are foreighers anyway, so they can get away with it. And even if their prices get closer and closer to Hermes, they have stocks and SAs who want to sell. When one bag isn’t available, the SAs, especially the French ones, suggest another in similar style or color. Usually, it helps people buy more unless you are looking for a very specific bag and nothing else will do. Even then, a really beautiful bag you’ve never seen can change your mind.

I also think the price increase in Europe is extremely unfair. If they want the price to be the same all around the world, they should make all the prices equal to Europe.

Can’t say it’s fair either… Prices should never be raised in the level they are going to raise it in europe. It’s ridiculous and europeans should retaliate.

I feel like the upcoming financial stats for Chanel will only tell if they made the right move with this scheme. They are thinking numbers and marketing more than anything else.

CC needs to keep roots strong in France…I think it’s unfair! I understand it’s hard to fix the prices everywhere, but still a bad move for the chanel image
