Cardi B may have one of the most enviable Hermès collections in the world, yet all eyes appeared to be on the extraordinary accessory accompanying Isha Ambani to Rahul Mishra’s Couture show in Paris.

Seated front row alongside Isha Ambani, Cardi B attended Mishra’s DEVI Couture show. While the collection delivered plenty of spectacle on the runway, handbag enthusiasts may have been more distracted by what Ambani carried into the show.
For the occasion, Ambani wore a custom slate-grey Rahul Mishra Couture creation adorned with intricate embellishments inspired by the collection’s sculptural motifs. She completed the look with dazzling diamond jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. Yet it was her handbag that sparked the most conversation.
Appearing alongside the couture gown was the Hermès’ ultra-rare Sac Bijou Birkin— arguably one of the most extraordinary creations ever to emerge from the Maison’s jewelry workshops. First unveiled in 2012 as part of Hermès’ Haute Bijouterie collection under the direction of Pierre Hardy, the Sac Bijou Birkin transforms the iconic Birkin into a functioning piece of high jewelry. Crafted from 18k white gold and set with an astonishing 3,025 diamonds totaling more than 111 carats, only three examples of each diamond version were ever produced. Measuring just 4.7 x 3.8 inches, the miniature masterpiece is designed to be worn as a bracelet while still functioning as a handbag.

Of course, eagle-eyed luxury watchers may recognize the piece from another famous Ambani appearance. Nita Ambani was previously photographed carrying the same Sac Bijou Birkin at a pre-Diwali celebration hosted by Manish Malhotra, raising the question: is this Isha’s personal piece, or a treasured family jewel making another high-profile outing?
One thing is certain: opportunities to see a Sac Bijou Birkin in the wild are few and far between.
