Gabrielle Doesn't Belong (only) to Chanel

What’s in a name? Does Chanel own the name “Gabrielle”? According to a UK court, the answer is no. Chanel sued plus-size label Gabrielle, claiming that it owned the trademark to Coco Chanel’s first name. This was the second lawsuit Chanel brought against Molly Bracken’s Gabrielle line, after losing in Switzerland. Her clothing line was named after painter Auguste Renoir’s muse Gabrielle.
