As the curtain falls on another Paris Haute Couture Week, attention is already turning to the future of couture. Hermès has officially confirmed that its long-awaited haute couture debut will take place during Paris Haute Couture Week in January 2027.

The project is being spearheaded by Women’s Artistic Director Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski, who has spent the past year developing a dedicated couture atelier for the house. According to reports, the atelier will eventually employ around 20 specialized artisans. While Hermès has long demonstrated exceptional craftsmanship through its leather goods, jewelry, and ready-to-wear collections, the January presentation will mark the first time the Maison participates in the haute couture calendar.
The timing is particularly notable. Hermès’ couture debut is expected to arrive just days after Grace Wales Bonner presents her first menswear collection for the house, ushering in a new chapter following the departure of longtime menswear artistic director Véronique Nichanian after nearly four decades at the helm.
For a Maison built on artisanal expertise, haute couture feels less like a departure and more like a natural evolution. The January 2027 debut promises to be one of fashion’s most anticipated moments.
