A Magical Evening Inside the Hermès Window in Delhi

Last night felt like stepping quite literally into the whimsical world of Hermès. An intimate group of just 40 guests — including some of the Maison’s clients alongside personalities from fashion, luxury and media — were invited to dine inside Hermès Delhi’s seasonal window installation, beautifully imagined by artist Svabhu Kohli around the theme “Where the Forest Meets the Sea.” Even our personalised printed invitations carried the story through.

The evening unfolded over a spectacular five-course vegetarian supper by Ekaa, Mumbai, with the menu itself inspired by nature — from The Sunken Forest and A Walk in the Wild to The Golden Silk Harvest and The Life of Rice. Dining amongst moss-covered tables, fantastical flowers, sea creatures and Hermès objects made every course feel like part of the installation.

But it was the unexpected details that made the night truly magical: a whistle blower, live singers appearing during dinner, and a typewriter poet who interacted with each of us before composing a personalised poem bearing our names.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Christophe, Managing Director of Hermès India; Amit Singh, Store Manager; Rohima, Head of Communications; and Danniel Pereira — making an already special evening even more memorable.

It wasn’t simply dinner at Hermès. For one evening, we were invited to become part of the window, the art and the story itself. 🧡
