Dear PurseBop:
I have a situation that needs professional advice. I have shopped in Hermes Paris for a while at “store A” to the point where I was offered SO for croc and I did the SO last year around spring time. However, i do not shop at store A anymore because my previous SA at store A has left and I have moved to shop at “Store B” for 8 months with the new SA in store B
Now today, the SO from last year (Store A) has arrived but I haven’t picked it up yet as I live in Asia (the order arrived much faster than my expectation). However, I do have a leather appointment with my SA in store B in 3 weeks (normally he offers me a quota bag and other purchases in different departments) and this time, I want to request for another SO with him as well (i have a specific taste for bag and I want exactly that)
Do you think it is possible to create another SO with store B while the previous SO from store A is still not completed (as in I haven’t picked it up yet). Is it possible in Paris?
Dear Paris VVIP:
You have found yourself in an interesting, albeit enviable situation. We have reports that Paris is restricting the quota bag offers, including Special Orders, when a person has a Special Order in the system. In addition, Paris is beginning to enforce a 4-6 month rule between receipt of quota bags. Coupled with that, each location in Paris can view your profile and see that a Special Order has been completed and is ready for pick up.
With all those changes, we also know that Hermès treats its VVIP’s differently. You mentioned you have a relatively strong profile in Paris. That matters more than a three-day gap between pickup and appointment. Hermès looks at consistency, spending, relationship quality, and desirability as a client over time.
Our best advice is to pick up your original exotic Special Order at Store A to avoid missing out on it and it being sold to another customer. Generally Hermès will “hold” a Special Order bag for a maximum of 30 days unless other arrangements are made.
After retrieving your new bag from Store A, visit your new SA at Store B and discuss your new wishlist. It is likely your SA will do their best to make your wishes come true. It may be at this visit or in the future.
Good luck and happy shopping.
