Hermès Spring-Summer 2026 Bags: Old Favorites Meet Fresh Faces

As the sun dipped over Paris on an unseasonably warm fall afternoon, Hermès returned to La Garde Républicaine for its Spring-Summer 2026 Ready-to-Wear show. Artistic director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s collection navigates the brand’s equestrian roots while shifting seasons with a mood of movement.

In the days leading up to the show, Hermès teased the season’s spirit with phrases like “Bright is the wind,” “Ride towards the sun,” and “Pacing the sand.” On the runway, those words took form as models strode across a sand-covered floor, setting the stage for a collection steeped in dune-like tones and sunlit ease.

Relaxed tailoring found balance in feminine cut-outs and fluid silhouettes, while intricate leatherwork added the signature Hermès edge. Equestrian cues were ever-present: wrap skirts evoking saddle flaps, subtle quilting reminiscent of saddle pads, and harness-inspired detailing—all grounded with pairs of polished riding boots. The palette was serene yet purposeful, led by neutrals—warm caramel, khaki, creamy beige, crisp white, nude pink, and navy—punctuated with decisive touches of red as summer brights.

Beyond leatherwork, silk held a starring role. The Maison’s signature scarves appeared throughout: knotted around handbags, fastened as belts, or draped loosely across the shoulders. Bags, too, told a story of heritage meeting reinvention. Archival designs like the So Kelly appeared alongside recent newcomers such as the Birkin à l’envers, while sizing spanned from petite clutches to soft, slouchy silhouettes.

Here’s a closer look at the bags defining Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2026 collection…
New Hobo Bag
First teased in Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2026 collection videos and later unveiled on the runway, the new curved hobo immediately stood out as the collection’s defining bag. Significantly smaller than the Arçon yet echoing its silhouette, the design appeared in two sizes with a softened, slouchier structure. The handle extended seamlessly from the body, while an additional leather strap—reminiscent of a horse’s girth—fastened with a buckle at the top, allowing the bag to be carried either by hand or on the shoulder.
The front is secured by a leather tab and a lobster clasp that hooks onto one of two metal rings – a detail seen on the Double Longe bag from the Fall-Winter 2025 lineup. Presented in a refined palette of neutrals, including gold, khaki, deep brown, and black, the new hobo style was carried by hand on the runway.

So Kelly Hobo
Hold your horses—the So Kelly is back! Originally designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier for Hermès’ Fall/Winter 2008 collection, this slouchy bucket bag with a hobo-style silhouette returned to the Spring-Summer 2026 runway in vibrant violet, classic black, and poppy red.
Unlike the original, the adjustable shoulder strap on this fresh iteration extends seamlessly from the body of the bag as a single leather piece, rather than being attached via D-rings. This design update creates a prominent seam along the sides, adding structure and a refined edge to the otherwise slouchy silhouette. Secured with a touret and sangle fastening borrowed from the classic Kelly, the bag was styled casually over the shoulder and carried by hand, bringing a relaxed, modern vibe to the runway.

Horse-Bit Hobo
Rounding out the hobo lineup is a new addition that combines slouchy ease with subtle refinement. Roomy and understated, the design fastens with a lobster clasp that hooks onto a metal D-ring extending from the bag’s interior, securing the two layers together with a streamlined, equestrian-inspired touch. Carried by hand on the runway with its adjustable shoulder strap, the bag debuted in two leather constructions: a dual Togo-and-Swift calfskin combination, reminiscent of the Arçon, in black and khaki, and a heritage Box calfskin version in black and chocolate brown.

Kelly Danse
Following the So Kelly, the Kelly Danse, another Jean-Paul Gaultier design, made an unexpected appearance on the Spring-Summer 2026 runway, in a vibrant violet. Styled around the waist and layered with a neutral tone belt for a utilitarian look, the Kelly Danse was last seen on the runway during the second chapter of Fall-Winter 2024 in New York.

Kelly Multi-Pochette to Go
Originally part of the Men’s Summer 2024 collection, the Kelly Multi-Pochette to Go appeared on the runway styled as a clutch in what looks to be Rouge H. The bag has a boxy structure with three external front pockets, each secured with a Kelly buckle, and includes a long shoulder strap for crossbody wear, which was styled wrapped around the Pochette for an effortless look.

Birkin Veau Doblis
Hermès is bringing us suede for Spring-Summer 2026, and in the most delightful way, as the Birkin in Veau Doblis strutted down the runway several times. Crafted in velvety suede, these distinctive Birkin 30s brought a tactile twist to the collection. Presented in two colorways, the black version was carried by hand, while a second iteration in a Kraft-like shade was tucked under a model’s arm.

Birkin à l’envers
The Birkin à l’envers, first introduced in Spring-Summer 2025, returned in a rich chocolate brown. Styled tucked under the model’s arm, this variation of the iconic silhouette flips the Birkin inside out. The flap and sangles remain on the exterior, while the interior reveals the signature touret fastening.

Tablier Sellier
The Tablier Sellier, introduced in Fall-Winter 2024, returned for Spring-Summer 2026 in its signature refined leather-and-canvas construction. The bag maintains its softly arched silhouette and slightly elongated top handles, secured with the understated Clou de Selle fastening. Carried by hand on the runway, it was presented in a range of neutral shades.

Derby Bag
Originally seen on the Spring-Summer 2025 runway, this Derby-inspired design is back for Spring-Summer 2026 in fresh colorways. Echoing Hermès’ historic 1926 Derby travel bag while incorporating elements of the Plume, the bag retains its tapered top, elongated horizontal silhouette, and signature horse-hoof-shaped gussets. Diamond-shaped reinforcements and sculpted pull tabs complete the design, which appeared in small sizes on the runway in bright red, mustard yellow, and black.

Besace Attelée
Originally from the Fall-Winter 2025 lineup, the Besace Attelée made a single appearance on the Spring-Summer 2026 runway, styled as a belt bag. The shoulder bag features a minimalist flap-front design with a smaller flat pocket beneath the top flap and an adjustable strap. Secured with an equestrian-inspired clasp, it was presented in black with gold-tone hardware.

En Piste Clutch
Inspired by equestrian motifs, the En Piste Clutch, first introduced in Hermès’ Fall-Winter 2024 collection, returned to the runway. Petite and compact, the bag’s rounded form nods to a stirrup, while the curved top handle echoes the form of a stirrup. This season, it was carried by hand, held by its top handle rather than styled as a belt bag. The sculptural silhouette appeared in black, a biscuit-like neutral, and bright red.

Balusoie
Expanding the silk lineup beyond the scarves, the Balusoie stands out as a refined non-leather option on the runway. Somewhat reminiscent of the brand’s Bride-a-Brac Pouch, this iteration appeared in black silk adorned with a tropical botanical print and a black Hunter cowhide handle.

H Canvas Hobo
It’s not uncommon for Hermès’ men’s and women’s collections to intersect on the runway, and one standout from the Men’s Summer 2026 lineup highlighted this fluidity. Crafted with an H canvas body, the design features a sturdy black leather base extending up the bag for structure. Key details include a ring inspired by the Arçon, a hanging key clochette, and a Hermès padlock suspended from a slim leather tab threaded through the front, serving as the bag’s closure. Finished with a wide, comfortable single shoulder strap, the bag was carried by hand on the women’s runway.

More Hermès Bags, Ready-to-Wear, Boots, and Accessories to Expect in Spring-Summer 2026
Hold your reins—there’s even more to explore this upcoming season. Beyond the runway designs, Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2026 lineup brings more bags, equestrian-inspired boots, sleek Ready-to-Wear, and accessories that round out a collection rooted in movement, ease, and equestrian heritage. Here are some of our highlights. . .
More New Bags
Not every handbag appeared on the runway—Hermès saved a few surprises for the Objects Presentation and Re-See, where both new and archival designs surfaced for Spring-Summer.
First up, the Kelly Pochette is reimagined with a playful summer spirit. Showcased in Black Box calfskin, the classic silhouette is brightened with a cheerful daisy inlay—a lighthearted detail that adds a burst of whimsy to the timeless design.

The Mini Bolide takes an unexpected turn this season, swapping its classic polish for an edgy, almost industrial disco vibe. Crafted in black chèvre leather, the bag is punctuated with what appears to be silver metal washers arranged in a precise geometric pattern.

Rounding out the Bolide family is something a little different—not a bag, per se, but a whimsical new bag charm. Meet the Mini Bolide Fish: a cheeky, aquatic twist on the classic silhouette. Crafted in chèvre leather and accented with lizard skin stripes and tail, the tiny design is brought to life with a bold black-and-white fin and a perfectly placed fish eye. A fresh, fin-tastic take on Hermès charm-making.
Choose from three colorful iterations – including lime and jade green, bright blue and red, as well as a monochrome edition.

A fresh clutch silhouette emerges this season, crafted from Box calfskin. Clean and minimalist in form, the design is accented with a wraparound belt detail, secured by the iconic Kelly buckle for a refined finishing touch.
The clutch was presented in Rouge H and Black.

Also new is a top-handled drawstring bucket bag. Featuring a gold leather lining overlaid with a lighter brown lattice pattern, accented with contrasting white leather at the intersections. Maintaining a classic drawstring bucket silhouette, it cinches at the top and is finished with a curved, rolled leather top handle.

Footwear
‘Boots for spring’ is the clear message from Hermès in this show, even as it lightens the iconic silhouette, and seemingly skips Orans for the season. In their place are trendy low-profile sneakers and a leading sandal.

Not your classic Hermès Jumping Boot, the Spring-Summer 2026 iteration embraces a minimalist spirit. Stripped of Kelly buckles and hardware altogether, the sleek design is defined by clean lines and a discreet leather pull-tab at the back for ease. Presented at the Hermès Re-see, the new riding boots appeared in a versatile palette ranging from crisp white to tan, khaki, and black.
The equestrian boot lineup grows with fresh iterations of the Jumping Boot in H Canvas-and-leather blends, alongside quilted leather and soft suede styles.

It wouldn’t be a Spring-Summer lineup without sandals, and this season Hermès delivered a pared-back take. Crafted in gold leather with slender thong straps, the design was finished with a rope-inspired trim for pure summertime ease.

For a touch of Kelly-inspired elegance, another sandal style appeared in black Box calfskin. This elevated flip-flop featured an additional strap across the front, elegantly secured with the iconic buckle.

Sneakers also made an appearance at the Re-see. Echoing the silhouette of the Hermès Jet Sneaker, this new style is crafted entirely in leather and presented in black and gold, featuring subtle stitch detailing and an embossed ‘H’ motif.

Beyond sneakers and sandals, Hermès introduces a new pair of flats. Inspired by the Kiatsu sneaker, these Mary Jane-style ballet flats are crafted from crochet knit and calfskin, with playful cutouts throughout for a light, airy feel.

Scarves
Scarves played a starring role this season, as layering looks for bags and ensembles. Hermès served up a mix of equestrian-inspired designs—from bold, graphic horse prints and contemporary motifs to more classic, timeless bandana styles.

Ready-to-Wear
Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection embraces movement and versatility, with pieces designed for effortless layering. Sleek trench coats and tailored short jackets introduced structure, while relaxed short sets brought ease to the lineup. Supple leather mini dresses set a bold counterpoint to softly quilted outerwear, both channeling the Maison’s equestrian codes in different forms.
Leather harnesses and finely cut geometric patterns traced lines across the body, grounding the collection’s softer, more fluid foundations. The color story was serene yet purposeful, led by warm neutrals—caramel, khaki, creamy beige, crisp white, nude pink, and navy—punctuated with decisive touches of red and blue.
