It’s not a season for Hermès primary colors apparently. The latest and upcoming hues are more subdued . . . at least for those that have been disclosed. The theme, to the extent one exists, seems to be colors in nature, whether fields of poppies or “fields of color” and a veil of mist.
Orange Field
Orange Field is probably the punchiest of the bunch. Of course, it’s still not a primary color lol. Hermès describes it as follows: “An orange whose semillanate power is softened by a pink undertone, like a field of poppies.” Semillanate, by the way, means vivacious, and yes, we had to look it up too!
Depending upon the leather, Orange Field can appear deep or bright.
Jaune Milton
Jaune Milton is a pale yellow that some have, unflatteringly, likened to mayonnaise. But at least it’s not peach fuzz! Sorry, not sorry, Pantone.
Per Hermès Jaune Milton is a “pastel yellow with a soft and tender pallor, a tribute to the dye dear to the painter Milton Clark Avery.” Avery was an American modern painter, known for the technique of applying thin washes of paint to create veiled fields of color.
Gris Misty
We suspect those of you looking for a nice gray who missed out on Gris Mouette may gravitate toward Gris Misty. Hermès says it “takes its name from the veil of mist contained in this delicately bluish median gray.” First take is that this could be a lovely neutral.
New Gold
There also are rumors of a “New Gold” which leads us to wonder how and what could be new with so many existing similar shades. Beyond Gold, there’s Sesame, Caramel, Biscuit, Chai, and more. No doubt, however, Hermès can find a way for us to covet yet another gold-like hue.
Returning Colors
There are rumblings of other colors being offered in 2024. As with the typical Hermès color season, not every hue is new.
Bleu Océan
Hermès brings back another very dark blue that, according to Hermès, “evokes the vastness of the waves” with a “thousand different nuances.” Based on pictures past and present, in some leathers this could be a black substitute; in others (like Doblis), the shade hints of brightness with a tinge of oceanic green.
What colors will you be hunting in 2024? Let us know.

Hello,
I don’t want to bother you, but if this word is a French one «Semillanate», it’s would be rather « Sémillante ».
I just want to help you. Do not be mad.
Love your work 😘
I will be hunting a Constance Bleu Océan in Doblis and and a Kelly 25 Gris Misty.
I love the Orange Field and Blue Ocean. They are stunning. Excellent for a night out. The Gris Misty is stunning for Professional days and would really add to any apparel. Love the new hues and think their a big hit.
