Editor’s Update 04/25/25:
It’s here. As warned earlier this week, Van Cleef & Arpels has officially increased prices globally, effective Friday, April 25, 2025. The price update sees an average rise of 4.8% in the U.S., impacting the Maison’s most iconic collections – Alhambra, Perlée, and Frivole. Meanwhile, in Europe, select styles within the Alhambra line bear the brunt of the price hike, with an average increase of 5.1% across the collection.

While price increases are never welcome news for collectors or first-time buyers, this latest hike appears consistent with broader trends across the jewelry sector. Some collections have seen only modest increases, while others, particularly those featuring rare stones, experienced more significant price jumps.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the latest changes and find out which pieces will require more from your bank account. The Alhambra collection leads the charge in price hikes, with increases ranging from a modest 0.9% to a steep 14.3% in the U.S, and from 0.9% to 10.8% in Europe. Malachite has been the stone with the biggest hike in both regions, closely followed by Mother-of-Pearl.
In the U.S., the Magic Alhambra Earrings prices spiked: 3 Motifs in 18K Yellow Gold, Diamond, and Malachite jumped from $18,800 to $21,500 — a $2,700 increase or 14.3%. Meanwhile, in Europe, the same style in the Vintage line increased by 10.8%, rising from €20,200 to €22,400. Other designs in the Vintage, Magic, and Sweet Alhambra lines experienced increases, typically between 3% and 7% in both the U.S. and Europe.
Interestingly, not all pieces in the Alhambra collection have seen price increases in Europe, unlike in the U.S. Among those spared from the price hike are the fully diamond Vintage Alhambra Rings and the Vintage Alhambra 10 Motif Necklace, both of which remain unaffected despite their all-diamond designs.
When it comes to the Perlée collection, prices are stable in Europe. However, in the U.S., prices across the entire line have seen modest increases, ranging from 2.1% to 3.6%. For example, the Perlée Pearls of Gold Ring in 18K Yellow Gold increased by $30 (from $820 to $850), while the Perlée Clovers Diamond Pendant in 18K Yellow Gold with Diamond saw a $150 jump (from $5,100 to $5,250).
Turning to the Frivole collection, as European prices remain steady, the U.S. sees increases similar to those in the Perlée collection, ranging from 2.1% to 3.5%. The Frivole Bracelet Mini Model in 18K White Gold and Diamond price rose by $100 (from $4,600 to $4,700), reflecting a 2.1% increase, while the Frivole Pendant, Small Model in 18K Yellow Gold and Diamond increased by $350 (from $9,950 to $10,300), reflecting a 3.5% rise.
