Hermès Just Dropped the Boot of All Boots—And I Had to Have Them

My love for boots knows no bounds. It’s an age-old addiction. Every year, I promise myself just one more special pair, though lately, it’s been more like two. Last Fall-Winter, I was completely obsessed with the biker-style Hermès Jamie boots, which will still be very much in rotation. But this season’s treasure? Quite possibly the crème de la crème… the boot of all boots.

Hermès Chicago… “only the special room would be befitting for the reveal of these exceptional treasures”

No surprise, they are also Hermès. Specifically, the iconic Jumping Boot –a refined take on the classic riding boot, born from Hermès’ equestrian codes and cemented as a house classic since its debut in 1972. Designed to sit just below the knee, the silhouette is sleek and elongated, accented by the signature Kelly buckle at the side – a subtle yet unmistakable Hermès detail. Over the years, the Jumping Boot has been reimagined in everything from classic black calfskin to suede, shearling, and embroidered editions, always maintaining its distinctive balance of elegance and equestrian spirit.

And now, just when I thought my boot obsession had peaked, Fall-Winter 2025 hit the runway—and my heart skipped more than a beat. Presented in Shanghai, the second chapter of the collection opened with a look completed by the Jumping Boot in its most dazzling incarnation yet: a ‘So Black’ suede, encrusted with thousands of black crystals and finished with matching black hardware. Sleek, polished, almost jewel-like—it was love at first sight.

I was literally jumping in my jumping boots. I wore the wrong jeans to say the least but oh well :) see full reel @pursebop

And while they’re undeniably spectacular to look at, these boots are also rare treasures in every sense. Each country received only one full-size run, the Hermès store director explained—so in the USA, there’s quite possibly just one size 8.5. When I probed further into the scarcity, it was the number of hours of invasive hand work involved that made this runway piece very difficult to produce. Noted that someone worked very hard to secure these for me :)

Needless to say, a rarity like this comes with a price—one that’s as extravagant as the boots themselves.

Let’s call this the BLUE BOX of boots.

I must confess, these boots are exorbitantly expensive—so much so that I’m not even going to mention a number—(especially in case Mr PB is reading 🙈 hehe)

In a world where everything stylish seems to insist on a stiletto heel, I’m thrilled because I’ve always loved flats. And with thousands of sparkling crystals catching every glance, my heart literally sings. My love for bling is no secret, and these are the kind of boots that turn getting dressed into a celebration, making every outfit feel instantly elevated. In fact, it’s safe to say – they are the outfit!

While we are at it in the VIP room – I discovered I love  a variation of this bench for our foyer.

As for how I see myself wearing these boots—well, the possibilities are endless. I’ll pair them with my Hermès leather trench from last year, dress them up or down, and yes, you’ll definitely see them with jeans and a T-shirt. Unlike most who would reserve such a statement for only the most special moments, I plan to wear them as much as possible to bring down the cost-per-wear, seriously 😒.

Why preserve them when they’re made to be seen? They may deserve a front-row moment at Paris Fashion Week, but for now, they’ll be making their debut in London. Promise you some modeling shots from the Big Ben 🇬🇧 with a very special bag.

My heart be still.
