This New Hermès Bag Finally Has a Name

When it first appeared on the Hermès Spring–Summer 2025 runway, it arrived without introduction. No official name, no formal designation — just a structured, heritage-rooted silhouette placed quietly into the lineup. Now, Hermès has made it official: meet the Petit Tour.

Hermès Petit Tour Bag

Inspired by the historic Hermès Derby, the Petit Tour channels the spirit of 1920s automobile luggage. A wide double zipper allows the bag to open fully — a feature for which Émile Hermès secured exclusive rights in 1922. The tapered design is emphasized by relief-sculpted gussets crafted in the shape of horse hooves for an equestrian touch. Elegant handles and a rigid base lend the bag its structured profile, while pull tabs, loops and saddle stitching showcase the craftsmanship of Hermès’ leatherworkers.

Its design may feel familiar to Hermès collectors. The Petit Tour shares key design codes with the Victoria bag, which debuted in 1997, with similar proportions, dual top handles, wide two-way zipper, top handles with diamond-shaped reinforcements, metal feet, and signature clochette and padlock detail. While rooted in the design language of the Derby bag, the Petit Tour  introduces a modern sensibility.

Offered in two sizes, the Petit Tour 34 measures approximately 13.4 x 8.3 x 5.1 inches, while the larger Petit Tour 41 offers a more travel-friendly take on the silhouette. The small model features a delicate, adjustable leather strap, allowing it to be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, while both sizes can be carried by hand or on the arm using the structured top handles. Inside, you’ll find four interior pockets to keep your essentials organised.
