2025 marked a rebound year for Chanel, with annual revenues rising nearly 2% to $19.3 billion — and that was before the onset of “Blazy-mania.” Chanel CEO Leena Nair told Reuters that “what we saw in 2025 was a creative momentum across all our business activities,” driven by investments made in 2024.

The company expects 2026 to be even stronger. Notably, the improved 2025 performance does not yet reflect the full impact of Creative Director Matthieu Blazy, whose first show debuted last fall and whose designs only began arriving in boutiques in March 2026. The frenzy during Paris Fashion Week made it clear: Blazy has the fashion world talking about Chanel — for better and worse — helping propel the brand to the top spot on the Lyst Index Q1 2026.
That said, some perspective is warranted on the financial results. Chanel’s 4% revenue decline in 2024 created an easier basis of comparison in 2025. Price increases also may have played a role. The prices for Chanel’s classic handbags rose 5% in 2025, marking the first increase since March 2024, while other handbag styles saw hikes of 3 – 7%, above the rate of inflation at the time.
Even so, Chanel’s results compare favorably to other players in the luxury sector. The brand trailed Hermès, which posted 9% growth, but outperformed peers including the Fashion & Leather Goods division of luxury conglomerate LVMH, where revenue fell 5%, and Prada, which reported a 10% decline.
Do you see this as the beginning of a big rebound for Chanel? Is Blazy the person to do it? Let us know?
