Will carrying (or wearing) Louis Vuitton - or any luxury brand - get you that job and at a higher salary?

A recent article in the Harvard Business Review suggests yes, but I’m not so sure. Couldn’t it be off putting to prospective employers? Check out the article here and let me know what you think

sorry but I don´t even get the logic behind it. Not everyone cares about or pays attention to brands.

Just read the article and honestly, I don´t agree with it at all… I mean, it totally depends on what line of work the person is engaged in for it to be true or not… for example, at the University where I do my Phd no one cares whether my bag is Fendi or no brand, they don´t even know how the Fendi logo looks like and they couldn´t care less… so I think there are cases and cases… this study may even be true, but in a determined work atmosphere… it can´t be generalized at all. I also think results would vary a lot from country to country, so in my humble opinion, this article isn´t valid at all. xoxo

I have to agree with PatiEv here. I sould have honestly thought the opposite. I suppose it strongly depends on the industry. I still think brand humility in an interview is best.

I get the logic behind it..but honestly being put together in any brand can score your more points than just simply wearing designer wear in my eyes
