This is just scary!!!! I’ve never bought a designer handbag except from the original store but this just shows that maybe that is not enough!!!! How can these stores accept the fake bags don’t they check them out! I think the names and branches of these stores should be published so that their customers beware of the bags they’ve bought during that time.

I’ve never thought about Hermes, I mean as a bag addict I’v always admired it and thought of it as the ultimate holy grail bag but it has always been out of reach because of its price I have always been a Chanel girl, saved up till I got myself a Classic Flap Bag for my 30th birthday—technically I got it before my 29th- my heart still skips a beat every time I take it out of its dust bag- HOWEVER when I read PurseBop’s entry about buying the Plomb Birkin 35. clemence leather with gold hardware this is was the first time when I’ve seen a Birkin and thought THIS IS IT, the color, size, and leather have hit all the right spots….and now I’ve placed it as my 40th birthday gift from me to me :) Although I’m not sure I can wait that long….any thoughts about Chanel for my 30s and Hermes for my 40s????

No I can’t, but if there is truly an issue behind how the alligators are treated, then I agree with Jane Birkin, she is a lovely down to earth no frills woman that doesn’t want her Name tarnished. I already read an article on line, a few weeks ago along with pictures, showing in which horrible conditions one the supplier is treating the animals. ( if those are really H suppliers and I think they are…)Living in Florida I don’t have much feelings for alligators, but would never want them or any other animals to suffer. If it is true I will never feel the same about H…

What a rich and vibrant story! My favourite part was you selecting your Mother’s very first H bag. My Mother is also a #ChanelLady (and a #DiorLady) and I have yet to be able to get her to cross over to the orange side. I should just do what you did and present her with a carefully selected first bag. I hope some day to get back to Paris and try my luck at FSH now that I’ve been bitten by the H bug too

Girl it’s a fabulous bag! I love that it’s a piece from your past, and please know larger bags are coming back sooner than we all think! Please use what you LOVE and worry less about others :) I have my first LV back pack from 20 years ago that I still adore and use from time to time. Use with great pride. Thank you for sharing!
