I will agree that in France I saw smaller daintier charms on bags, not the monsters we walk around with here in the US ? I had my little rodeo on my Lady B Vermillion during my recent Côte d’ Azur trip & received many compliments, even from Hermes SA’s, so my assumption is that charms are not as ‘in your face’ in Europe ??? (Maybe ?)

I have three . . . all chanel. M/L lambskin flap (my very first chanel bag – for about $1400 a decade ago!), reissue 227 and, of course, my GST

yes, and that’s ok as long as you don’t have a closet full. I have the chanel boy versailles and I adore it – using it and just looking at it.

I think there are so many fun, elegant, dainty, whatever you want really-charms you can add to a bag that allows it. Like the simple epi leather LV bags. Charms work so well on a bag like that! On the other hand, I saw the Fendi furball charm on a vintage monogram LV the other day and it was a big thumbs down in my opinion .

I love the Gucci Flora Hobo that was my first official designer bag, purchased from Saks on major sale one July. It is still my go to summer bag, and it makes me always nostalgic for Gucci although the I quickly went to Chanel and Hermes land with bags! ??

I really like this bag in the monochromatic colorways, but not with contrasting handle bc it seems more trendy to me. I really like the style of this bag and think it is different enough from a K that you would grab each one for diff outfits. The classic quilted leather seems different than a smooth leather K, so they would each be distinctive especially if the future K was a total opposite color as this lovely Coco. ??

I want a pair of riding boots… VAGUE i know ;) maybe mid range but i’m terrible at looking for boots/not sure of what brands would be best…any recommendations?
- StyleInTheCity replied 11 years ago
I dont know if anyone else agrees but i feel like the coco handle and kelly are different enough that you would still want to use both after. Maybe im too paranoid but I’d be scared to grab for my K as often as the coco! a kelly is a kelly no doubt, but dare i say the coco seems like more of an interesting/prettier bag (depending on your style)….that being said though since the coco is more trendy in that way you could get sick of it eventually

I LOVE IT! thanks for sharing @sapphiresandscotch. Just wondering even though its perfection, how was it off from your original specifications as you mentioned? what was the ideal?
are u pleased for now/or is B #2 already in the works? ;)
- StyleInTheCity replied 11 years ago
YAY i think it’s pretty…even though it’s supposed to be simple there’s still no wow factor for me. I’m not saying the bag is boring but i wouldn’t FEELexcited about buying it for some reason.

my first: the gucci soho disco bag! still weighing out what other brands to branch into
the GST seems like the perfect, can’t go wrong type of bag (besides the slippery slope effect of wanting more chanel lol)

the LV nano collection has caught my eye the most out of all the “mini” bag talk, the alma is my favorite. ive heard the nanos dont fit much but i usually only carry my cell phone and a few cards.

I have started the journey somewhat recently as well and literally a few weeks ago got offered my first bag from my local store. Working on a fabulous reveal for IG and Boptalk! My husband and I also have a relationship we are cultivating with an SA in one of the Paris stores as we are there fairly often. In both cases I have bought a few items I wanted over a period of a year or two – not just to build a purchase history persay, but things I genuinely wanted, like bright colored belt straps, a certain fedora, the Kermit Oliver new scarf that came out in 2014. I then bought an orange jypsiere as my first bag purchase as I intended on investing in an amazing cross body and I fell in love with it. I also already owned a BE swift Kelly that my husband bought from a friend who had ordered it and didn’t want it when it came in. So I carried that in fairly often. I really just put in a lot of face time at the store, hanging out with my SA and getting to know her – I also had to start over completely with all this bc my SA left after a long time with Hermes to fulfill her jewelry passions with Harry Winston! I think it’s just patience and persistence to some extent – I am really no expert. I only just now got offered this bag after a few casual convos about something really specific with the assistant GM, things I had seen on IG and PurseBop, the upcoming re-opening of our Hermes store, etc. I think being really specific helps. Give them a few colors/leathers only that are your absolute favorites. I am not as picky as some ladies with hardware usually so that might also help, lol. So that was three years or so of all this and it paid off!! I’m sorry your closest store is far away from you, but just put in as much face time as possible, check in with them, know your SAs days off, etc. I hope dear Mrs. PurseBop gives you her story as I think she was a long-time Chanel collector long before she decided to delve into the orange box fantasy land! She will have some great tips as well as the other way more seasoned H ladies on here! Hope this is helpful! Cheers – @sapphiresandscotch ??

Hi ladies, I have just added an exotic CDC to my collection which has only served to fuel my CDC obsession even more. It is an alligator in the color Violet and is so pretty in real life. I hope this is the start of a few more coming my way!
