I’m liking Kim’s coat though!:) But seriously, I’m not a big fan of the hand painted bag unless, perhaps, it is professionally and tastefully done. A one of a kind bag (like a one of a kind painting) would for sure be unique.

I don’t think so . . . To me, Hermes remains the premier brand. Chanel is much more accessible and there’s been a lot of weird stuff lately (cough, cough, girl bag).

My first Birkins were 35. While I like that it can carry a lot, it can get heavy so I don’t use them as much. I am now a convert and lover of the 30 size. Love them. It can carry a decent amount and can still get heavy but not nearly as bad. It is completely practical and I think this size can grow old with you better than a 35. I should mention though that I’m not terribly tall so the 30 suits my height well also.

Great topic! I’m able to give my, almost completely, unbiased thoughts here. :)
Judging from the Chanel bags that Pursebop shares and my IG friends showcase, Chanel is truly branching out in the right direction. Everywhere you look there is lots of fun, unique, sometimes crazy and – obviously – beautifully crafted bags. It even seems like Dior and some other designers are now imitating the formula since it clearly works wonders.
Hermés has pretty much stuck to what they know.. and that’s not a bad thing. Their bags still remain a mystery to the masses. Elegant, mysteries, alluring – like a unicorn. That has worked for many years, but it seems like each year you see more B’s and K’s. So, the concept of not being able to catch a “unicorn” when there are SO many out in the field.. it’s more frustrating than encouraging.
With any business change is crucial. It’s a make or break point. It will be exciting to see how Hermés handles change – which is inevitable, unless they want to become dated. I remember a few years back Chanel’s president said something along the lines of “To wear Chanel, you need to try it on in person.. we won’t sell Chanel online because it will not offer the type of service we want to give.” Now Chanel bags etc. will be available online in the near future.

i can suggest you my which i suggested begfore for travel bag : Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Medium size and you can customize it with your initials too .. they are very practical.. i have been using them like for 8 years and they are in excellent condition.. i hope that helps.. i also post some pictures :) (the one with the orange color- is medium size and the one with the bordeaux color is large but i can say that medium is more practical and appropriate for daily use)

everyday bag :)
- Lifeandstyletips replied 11 years ago
from me; NO :D i guess i never liked that kind of bags :)

I think these two will soon be history. Everything artificially blown out of proportion (and I am not speaking of her behind now LOL) lasts a limited period of time. Chanel has been here since Coco founded the maison in pre-war times… We have year 2015 now. So even if they would beat Chanel in “view” hits- means nothing…. It is just a reflection of the current times we live in NOW. they change so fast….

I said this before on IG- I was never a fan of her bags, but this collection got me. There are a few pieces worthy the attention and funds. The white sticker trapeze shopper (the less boxy one) and the runway piece (white/burgundy/sky blue) top handle with “Bags have feelings too” – those are absolutely YES for me (mind you my closet contains mostly two brands for casual bags).

I personally love love the way Jeremy Scott revived this iconic Italian fashion house. It has always been about classic boucle and girly/feminine vibe, but he took it to a completely higher level. For me it screams fun, fun, fun. And stepping out of your usual box. The bags are not everybody’s cup of tea, but I will give it a shot- must find the most “conservative” version though :-) :-).

I’d say everyday bag! Everyday bag can be a special occasion bag as well!

This was such a wonderful article to read. I think one of the key things that I took away from it was to build a collection as vast as yours, it takes time, patience and having quite a bit of product knowledge doesn’t hurt either. This may be a topic for another article from you, but I would love to learn about the process you went through to get your amazing special order birkin. Such as how you were invited to do it, the numerous options they offer and how you made your choices.

This is a great topic, mine absolutely have names. I wanted to call my new tri-color Constance alligator bag “Snap” (as my 16 month old is learning animal noises and the alligator says snap snap) but my husband said it should be called “Costly”. So we agreed to hyphenate. So here is Costly-Snap!

biggest problem for us brazilians is that $2k isn´t $2k for us, it´s at least R$6.6K (converting to our currency)… so it´s extremely expensive for us to buy high end brands….and I mean R$6.6k buying abroad, cuz in Brazil it´s WAY more than that… that´s the reason I always turn to preloved bags… it´s that or replicas, and since I can´t stand replicas, I´d rather buy an authentic preloved bag… and I´ve been extremely lucky so far, all bags I bought arrived in great condition :) anyways, what I meant to say is, I usually allow myself to pay up to R$3k on a bag, but on my currency, meaning: right now I can´t really buy anything cuz R$3K is less than $1k hahaha hoping the dollar goes down.

uuuhhh I could share my “work day bags” that I take to the university, but I don´t think anyone wants to see MK and no brand here hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
- PatiEv replied 11 years ago
My only CC bag is a vintage…here she is… She maybe a grandma but she’s a diva and I love showing her off hahaha.
- PatiEv replied 11 years ago
wow, tough choice…I must admit when I met Delvaux I fell in love with the Tempete first…but with time I started really loving the Brillant, and now, despite still loving both, if I were to buy a Delvaux, I think I would go with the Brillant first, and later the Tempete. All of your Delvaux babies are so GORGEOUS, thank you for sharing them and your thought on the brand with us :)
- PatiEv replied 11 years ago
Just wow!
I look like one big mess compared to you. :(
I’m happy to see you are wearing and using all your items. It’s great to see! Your doggy made me smile
- Helenkm replied 11 years ago
Right now its an everyday bag. I dont have enough special or formal occasions to justify the cost of a formal bag.
- Helenkm replied 11 years ago
Hello ladies ?? here are some latest photos from my IG ?

Love your pictures here at Boptalk! ? About stickers, have you tried to remove any, does it leave a mark on the bag?? Love your TOTE ?

I usually tend to love colors over neutrals especially during spring/summer

Yesterday it was my Chanel Chain Around Maxi, today is my 14S patent fuchsia jumbo ?

I forgot to add that Tokyo edition you have is just beyond beautiful. I have always loved it and RED is my favorite color. Have you used it? Is it a mini?
- Pursebop replied 11 years ago
Love this thread Debra C, I’m soooo excited to be on the Delvaux wagon! In fact it is the only other brand that really speaks to me other than my first love Chanel, and my recent obsession with Hermes.
I do not yet own the Tempete but am seriously considering one for fall. The Brillant I absolutely love although I do understand and relate to your buckle closure concerns. In the stiffer leathers such as my box leather it’s going to take time to soften the buckle leather. Mine is still stiff ? but because it’s more of a novelty style I have not used it as much as I would normally.
Can you share more about the Tempete closure and why it’s hard? I would really like to know before I spend 7-8K on it. Which do you like using more?
Have you seen fall colors I shared on the blog?
Looking forward to your reply ??

Not for me personally sweetheart, but it’s our duty report all that’s out there ?? I do think if I were in my early twenties and spent my day by the pool/beach I would love it. I was a lifeguard for one summer? when I was 19, and back then this would have been mine ?
- Pursebop replied 11 years ago
Tacky.. just when you think they can’t get worse than a McDonalds bag.
- BoyWithTheBag replied 11 years ago
Thanks a lot for your nice comments all of you ????
