This one is for Bella :) bag charms need not be childish, sometimes these little accents may make the bag look ‘happier’, and it’s what what makes it yours. :) the little charms are carmencitas, to add some colour.. Just to share!

This was from last week but I am currently obsessed with these Valentino wedges <3
They are so comfy and perfect for summer!
- LeOrangeBliss replied 11 years ago
I love both for different reasons… nothing beats the ease of Birkin access (just throw everything in!); but at the moment, am having a deep love affair with the Kelly… smitten with the elegant look and clean, classic lines :D

Amazing Rodeo family happybaggage!!!!
I only have 2 others to add that haven’t already been posted here:
1. Rose Sakura
2. Lagon (on the Right, Bleu Aztec is on Left)

Hi! First Birkin is always a memorable, exciting moment!
Things to consider:
1. Color – do you want a special POP color bag or want a neutral that will go with most anything/everything?
2. Leather – do you like structured bags or ones with a soft slouch? do you like grained or smooth leather? are veins or spines OK with you?
3. Hardware – do you wear mostly gold or silver jewelry?
4. Size – what are you looking to put in this bag? Everyday use for work/travel (35)? Day to night transition (30)? Night time only (25)? Does weight matter (35 in Togo/Clemence can get heavy!)?
Research research research!!! Look at tons of pics, read articles and threads (The Purse Forum is very informative). It is a lot of money for a bag, and hopefully you pick the right one best suited for you!
A brief overview on the most popular leathers:
– Togo: grained leather, retains structure pretty well although not “rigid”, can have veins, relatively very easy/stress-free/water-resistant, heavier leather (but less than Clemence)
– Clemence: grained leather, can become very slouchy if not cared for/stored appropriately, also relatively very easy/stress-free/water-resistant, one of the heavier leathers
– Epsom: pressed/stamped leather, stiff/structured leather, will hold it’s shape over time, takes color well, lightweight, water-resistant, corners/edges become worn more than Togo/Clemence, rumored to not do as well during spa treatment
– Swift: smooth leather, takes color beautifully, can become slouchy if not cared for/stored appropriately, scratches more than grained leather (but this blends over time to become less obvious), lightweight
– Box: smooth leather, limited colors available, maintains shape, scratches easily (but over time will develop a “patina”), water sensitive (will blister)
– Chevre (goat): grained leather, currently only available for SO (or older bags from resellers), limited to smaller size bags, takes color beautifully, beautiful sheen, can have an obvious “spine” down the middle of the bag, lightweight
In terms of acquiring a bag, you COULD get lucky as a walk-in in the USA if you purchase $x amount of other non-leather goods (fine jewelry/watches, ready to wear and home goods especially)… Generally speaking you will have more success at the end of the month, and at the end of the year (when the stores are closing their books on their sales for the month/year and need to meet a target amount). Stock is also more plentiful during the holiday season. But if you are interested in more than the Hermes Birkin, then I suggest you develop a relationship with an SA at your local Hermes store. Start off with buying other items, talk to your SA, express interest, be kind & courteous, not demanding. Your SA and your relationship with him/her is KEY! Over time you will develop a relationship, give your “wishlist” to your SA, and hopefully soon after be offered your dream bag! Hermes likes to give preference to those clients who they feel are interested in the brand as a whole, not just the Birkin/Kelly. So it helps for you to expand your horizons and purchase things from different departments; however that being said, NEVER feel the pressure to buy something you DO NOT LIKE! If there is nothing else at Hermes that interests you other than the B or K, then I suggest you just go the route of a reputable reseller… in the end even if you pay reseller markup, you may still end up spending less than what you would at the Hermes store for things you don’t like.
Sorry for this novel, but I hope it helps!

Couldn’t have said it better myself Pursebop!! I remember exactly when Delvaux came into my radar – seeing @bycamelia with her lovely Delvaux bags instantly caught my attention (naturally she knew of the brand because she lives in Belgium where it originates). I loved the clean classic lines of the Brillant especially. Since they are not available where I live, I waited during a trip to NYC to try them out in person. The first time I was not able to find the perfect size and color for me, but I adored them. Then a second trip to Barneys NYC brought Ms. Snow White into my life – Ivory box Brillant MM… it was love at first sight, and ever since then, the obsession and love with the brand just continues to grow. I have since acquired more Brillants (MM, Mini and bag charm) in my collection and look forward to more :D
As Pursebop said, I think they were very well known in Europe, especially Belgium. Lack of advertising and more traditional colors in the past put them under the radar… Within the past few years, they’ve ventured more into bright colors, unique material and designs, and have opened more stores in Europe and Asia (still no stores in the USA though)… I totally agree that Delvaux popularity is only continuing to rise (although I prefer if they remain more “under the radar” as they currently are).
Delvaux material and craftsmanship are excellent, also hand-made like Hermes. The bags are also guaranteed for their entire lifetime and can be sent back to Delvaux for “spa” just like Hermes. Price point is cheaper than Hermes. And unlike Hermes, there are no “games”… at least for now :p

Haven’t been able to put down my UHG bag Lagon swift Kelly 32 GHW since I got her… I’m afraid the other bags are feeling quite neglected!!! Must switch it up soon!
- LeOrangeBliss replied 11 years ago
Congrats girl!!! She is perfect!!!
- LeOrangeBliss replied 11 years ago
Certainly WAYYYYYY too expensive, but the damn things just make me so ridiculously giddy happy looking at them. So in that case… at what price happiness? With a limit for me though; I don’t buy every colorway/size out there, I’ve chosen the ones that are best suited for my bag collection :)

Hi lovely ladies, I just wanted to share my new lemon Python Boy bag in action. I’ve been crushing on this Boy for months and he is finally mine!
- Stylish Sheba replied 11 years ago
Is a Range Rover worth the price when you can buy a Jeep for a fraction of the cost? Is *anything* designer truly worth the price? It’s all down to each individual and their situation. For some people a Michael Kors is excessive for others a Birkin is like a box chocolates. Most of us will have a different opinion.
Personally, I love Fendi’s bag charms. They’re fun and vary in price, so you can pick one up on the “cheap” side. If a small ball of fur makes someone happy then, yeah, it’s worth the price. People need to lighten up a little.

Well Hello LV man…mighty impressive! Thanks for sharing. I think you should be the BopTalk resident expert on Louis Vuitton!

This is a love I can share, congrats on your petite baby. I am awaiting one myself. I ignored these beauties when they were first announced, but after having played with my girlfriends monogram pm, I am a convert. They are so light in weight, functional and love the cross body/clutch options. Are any more on your radar since you seem smitten :)
