Looks like some folks didn’t wait until Christmas (or even December) to unwrap the gifts in Chanel’s Advent Calendar. To mark the 100th anniversary of its Chanel No. 5 perfume, Chanel issues a calendar numbered from 5 to 31. Like a traditional advent calendar, each ‘window’ opens with a ‘gift.’ Although Chanel says you can “discover” a new CHANEL product every day: fragrance, makeup, miniatures and gifts inspired by the world of N°5″, many are disappointed with the merchandise.
While the idea is certainly appealing – if you get beyond the price tag of nearly $1000 – customers are expressing disappointment. They say there are only about five real Chanel items and the rest are trinkets – like stickers and bookmarks. IG is not kind to this one, nor is a recent article in Jing Daily.
