
It was a timely inspection by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as it uncovered a shipment with 375 timepieces from the luxury brand Audemars Piguet. If legitimate, these pieces would have been worth $54 million.
The items were found in a single shipment from Hong Kong to a residence in New York on June 18, 2026, by CBP officers at the Port of Louisville. The watches were evaluated by the Centers of Excellence and Expertise, which determined that the watches were counterfeit trademark infringing.
As always, the CBP provides warnings about the dangers of knockoff goods, including safety, impact on the economy and business, and funding of criminal activity and organized crime.
