UPDATE August 19, 2025
Who’s paying $155 for a lipstick and $250 for an eight-color eyeshadow palette, even when it says Louis Vuitton? With the new designer beauty products set for a digital pre-launch on August 25, it’s hard to see how that price point will attract the aspirational (and frankly, anyone else) – when a Revlon drugstore lipstick is under $10. Even Hermès’ lipsticks are half the price.
With all props to famed makeup artist Pat McGrath, we don’t doubt she’s come up with something great, packaged in a luxury markers, like the Monogram and Damier patterns. And as a novelty, first run, expect this grouping (likely a limited run) to sell out quickly. Sign up at louisvuitton.com to be among the first (million lol) for the official launch.
The question, though, is whether it will have staying power (beyond your lips and eyes, pun intended). What do you think?
Louis Vuitton is officially stepping into the beauty game.
The French fashion giant is launching La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a stunning new makeup collection set to hit shelves in Autumn 2025. But this isn’t just any beauty line – it’s the latest chapter in the brand’s evolution, led by the legendary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath.

After decades of shaping some of the most iconic looks backstage at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, McGrath will now bring her creative genius to the beauty world. This marks Louis Vuitton’s first foray into cosmetics since the 1920s, when the brand offered powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors. Now, with McGrath at the helm, the house is set to redefine luxury beauty.

Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, described the launch as a “natural business evolution.” He continued, “Through this new universe, we have the opportunity to further accompany clients in their everyday lives with purpose and pleasure while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage.”
The initial collection is set to feature 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and 8 eye palettes. While full details are still under wraps, McGrath promises a range that combines innovation, craftsmanship, and a new level of luxury.

Louis Vuitton’s move into beauty is a natural progression, especially after the success of its fragrance offerings. The brand is now joining other luxury houses, such as Celine, Chanel, and Hermès, in expanding into the cosmetics space. With McGrath’s expertise and Louis Vuitton’s legacy of quality, La Beauté Louis Vuitton is poised to make a major impact when it launches later in 2025.
