Louis Vuitton lovers rejoice! If you were one of many that were completely bummed when Louis Vuitton discontinued their much-loved bumbag, you’re in luck!

The discontinued style is coming back with a refreshed design this summer. Launching on June 2, 2023, the all-new bumbag is sure to be an instant hit. 

The OG LV Bumbag

Originally launched in Louis Vuitton’s 2018 Spring collection, the bumbag offered lovers of the brand a functional and trendy alternative to their classic styles. The original monogram bag was 14.6 x 5.5 x 5.1 inches in size. At the time of release, the bumbag was priced at $1,500 in the classic monogram canvas, and $1,800 in monogram empreinte leather. Both variations were extremely sought after and became increasingly hard to come by in boutiques, resulting in extensive waitlists for the bumbag. Periodically, the bag was restocked, however, it would instantly sell out again – even before most fans noticed the restock. Yes, that’s how sought-after this bag was!

Much to the dismay of Louis Vuitton lovers, the beloved bumbag was discontinued in April 2022. There was much speculation and confusion about this (See more: Where Did All The Canvas Go? An Investigative Report on Louis Vuitton Leather and the Future of Monogram). As one of Louis Vuitton’s most popular pieces, it wasn’t clear to many why LV decided to drop a bestseller. The monogram bumbag was among Louis Vuitton’s best-selling items, since its initial launch in 2018. During its release, bum bags and belt bags were becoming an increasingly popular fashion trend – and luxe lovers couldn’t get enough of this monogram delight!

Once discontinued, still the popularity of the LV bumbag persists. Currently, you can find the original monogram canvas bum bag for sale on multiple resale sites. The bag continues to sell for above retail price due to its popularity and scarcity. 

Out with the Old, in with the New

Louis Vuitton’s hotly anticipated, all-new bumbag will be released on June 2, 2023 (See more: Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall Collection Bags Walk a Bridge in Korea). This brand-new mini-sized bag is considered an SLG and will come with a detachable strap – a welcome addition. This new variation on the classic will vary in size significantly. Coming in at 6.7 X 4.7 X 3.5 inches in size, it is a much smaller take on the original bumbag. Available in the iconic monogram, as well as the popular Empreinte leather, there is a style for every LV lover. Priced at $2,030 the cost is notably higher than its predecessor. 

Louis Vuitton Monogram Mini Bum Bag

Small but perfectly formed, this modern take on the original is a fresh design. Featuring a leather detachable strap and gold-tone chain, the bag can be worn in multiple ways. This new mini bum bag will become part of Louis Vuitton’s permanent collection. However, this doesn’t mean that the bag will be readily available. Expect another sell-out!

For those still seeking the larger and original Louis Vuitton bum bag, there are reports that a reimagined piece is launching in the Fall. It is rumored that this original-sized bum bag will come complete with a detachable nylon strap, rather than the original leather.
