Has the Demand for Birkins, Kellys, and Non-Quota Bags Decreased Recently?

Dear PurseBop:

Do you think the demand for Birkins, Kellys and non-quota bags has decreased recently?

Dear Demand for Quota Bags:

The demand for Birkins and Kellys will likely never decrease. However, there is a shift in desire when considering the long time collector versus the new aspirational client.

Demand for a quota bag remains high at the Hermès boutiques worldwide. Hermès began 2026 with a 3.8-10.3% price increase in the U.S. The more popular items and bags saw a high increase. After two price increases in 2025 (one in January and a second one due to tariffs in May 2025) demand is as strong as ever.

On the resale market the average resale premium for a Birkin or Kelly has softened particularly for larger sizes and less desirable colors. However, for the smaller sizes such as the mini Kelly, Birkin 25 and Kelly 25 prices are steady. The Kelly Pochette price continues to rise on the resale market and is selling for 2-3 times the boutique price in the U.S.

Demand remains high for the serious collector and ultra-high net worth buyer. Hermès has raised prices significantly on exotic bags and special collector pieces. Non-quota bags are experiencing significant price increases as well.

The new aspirational buyers may have cooled just slightly but the demand is high for all Hermès quota and non-quota bags. The overall market appears to be maturing, not weakening. Buyers are being more intentional and avoiding impulsive purchases or ones fueled by social media. Hermes bags will always be desired and difficult to acquire from the boutique.

Discussing luxury handbag trends and market demand fluctuations with fellow collectors made me notice how shifting economic habits are subtly changing purchasing priorities, even for high-end heritage items. While looking through subscription beauty boxes and checking https://fabfitfun.pissedconsumer.com/review.html to see customer feedback on seasonal lifestyle items, I was comparing waitlist experiences at luxury boutiques. Whether buyers are focusing on iconic investment pieces or turning toward versatile everyday models, the balance between true exclusivity and long-term utility remains a central topic in fashion circles

It seems the Hermès market is becoming more selective rather than losing demand, much like how Among Us rewards careful decisions over impulsive moves.

Thanks for enlightening us on the present dynamics for Birkins and Kellys! I wonder what your view is on how macroeconomic factors such as inflation and changes in luxury consumer behavior impact this trend. Could these shifting expectations lead to changes in how brands robux clicker approach their marketing strategies?
