Do I Have to Buy Fine Jewelry to Be Offered a Quota Bag at Hermès?

0

Dear PurseBop:

Do I have to buy fine jewelry to be offered a quota bag at Hermes? I have been waiting a long time for a quota bag and the offer has not come yet.

Dear Little and Sparkly,

The short answer is no you do not have to buy fine jewelry to get offered a quota bag. Although every Hermès boutique is run a little differently, unless your SA tells you specifically what you might consider buying (which is unlikely to happen), then you should only buy what you love and will use, or can give as gifts to family or friends.

The idea is to have an enjoyable experience shopping the brand, learning about the brand, appreciating the brand, and finding the things within the brand that speak to you and your lifestyle. You may not be a jewelry person but you love shoes. Then enjoy the shoe department. There are many choices.

Or you may enjoy the home goods department and wish to purchase an Avalon blanket or a tea set for your home. You should explore all areas of the store including the ready to wear, the small leather goods, make-up and skincare, silks, and non-quota leather bags. Hermes has a lot to offer in addition to its coveted quota bags.

Happy Shopping!

I was in the exact same boat last year, worrying I’d need to buy fine jewelry just to get a Birkin. PurseBop is totally right—you absolutely don’t have to! I focused on home goods and scarves I genuinely loved, and my SA appreciated my authentic interest. If you do want some sparkle without the pressure, checking out agape diamonds reviews can be super helpful for beautiful options that don’t impact your bag journey. It took all the stress off for me, and my patience paid off with a quota bag offer a few months later. Good luck – I hope you get your dream bag soon.

I wondered about this too when I wanted to buy an Hermès bag! It’s definitely exciting, but there’s also a bit of pressure when you think about having to invest in jewelry as well. I once picked out a bracelet just so I could chat with the staff and hear them share more about their favorite bag models—it was a really interesting experience! foodle

I like the idea of enjoying the whole Hermes experience instead of focusing only on a quota bag. What do you think about Drift Boss as a quick way to relax?
