I Missed Getting a Hermès Picotin Because I Could Not Get To The Store Before Closing - Is This Normal?

Dear PurseBop:
My SA texted me he has a Picotin available, but I would have to pick it up within the hour because they were going to close. I was stuck and couldn’t get there so I had to forfeit the bag. Now, all I am doing is dreaming of that bag.
Please tell me this happens all the time? Is there an option that I could’ve pre-paid for it and picked it up in the morning? I’m sick to my stomach so upset I’m waiting for any type of bag in one of my dream combos for almost 5 months. Please help.

It is unfortunate that you missed out on the Picotin of your dreams. However, it is our understanding that Hermes SA’s are no longer permitted to hold bags for customers once offered nor can they take payment over the phone. You must be present usually to purchase the bag.
If you are unable to get to the store, often they offer the bag to the next client on their list. This is likely due to the great demand and low supply of all Hermès leather bags. Each boutique makes and enforces their own rules with respect to their bags, clients, and purchases. Often a manager but give approval for all bag offers and for holding a bag.
We are sure your SA will try to find you another Picotin of your dreams in the near future. It is their desire to make you happy. Be patient and another offer will come again.
