Dear Pursebop,

I’m torn and need some guidance on an Hermes color. I’ve been offered a B25 in Vert de Gris in Togo with P/H. I’m not very familiar with this color. I currently have my Holy Grail Birkin 30 noir with g/h. and a beautiful b25 in chai with gh/w along with a few Kelly Selliers.

I’m in the market for a more casual everyday Birkin that’s neutral and goes with everything. What are your thoughts on vert de gris? Will it look washed out and muddy with palladium hardware? Or is it more of chameleon color that looks great with everything?

Thank you for your help and expertise.

Dear Considering Vert de Gris:

A Birkin in Vert de Gris Togo leather is a great everyday dark neutral bag. The color is a dark green with a gray undertone. In the sunlight the green is more prominent and its color is more vibrant. Inside lighting it reads as a neutral color leaning toward a dark gray.

In our opinion palladium hardware would be the perfect pairing with Vert de Gris as it will give it a modern updated and brighter appearance. We believe you will enjoy a Birkin 25 in Vert de Gris with palladium hardware and it will become one of your most versatile bags in your collections.

Hermès colors all tend to be chameleons in different lighting and at various times of the day. If a dark neutral bag is on your wishlist Vert de Gris is perfect for its versatility and beauty.
