Dear PurseBop:
Love all the information and interesting stories you write. I am going to visit Tokyo in June and am curious what the Hermès stores are like there. Is there any information on shopping there and whether it’s possible to get a leather bag visiting there? Appreciate any insight you may have. Thank you
Dear Hermès Shopper in Japan:
There are 14 Hermès boutiques in Tokyo, Japan. An internet search while in your hotel will connect you to the Hermès boutiques closest to your location. Most Hermès boutiques operate similarly to all other locations. Non-quota bags are easier to request than quota bags. Our best advice is to visit the locations closest to your hotel, shop for items you desire, and connect with one sale associate. Then ask if you may be offered a leather bag. If available. Many will sell non-quota bags and possibly a Constance if available. It is best to visit the store early in the day.
The Ginza Hermès boutique in Tokyo allows customers to purchase a bag they have in stock if requested. Some customers stand in line before the store opens to have the first opportunity to choose if a bag is in stock or arrives that morning. We have received reports of success in this store at times.
