The Birkin needs no introduction. But Hermès just added a new “B” to its bag family—and it’s all about quiet luxury. While the Birkin is instantly recognizable with its iconic shape and hardware, the Bridon flies under the radar: minimal, refined, and unapologetically understated.

Part of Hermès’ Fall/Winter 2025 collection, the Bridon draws its name and inspiration from the French word for “bridle,” paying homage to the Maison’s equestrian heritage. Its silhouette clearly nods to the beloved Birkin, but with a subtly curved top edge and slightly elongated handles that give it a fresh, refined presence. While official measurements haven’t been released, the Bridon appears to echo a similar size and shape to the Birkin 30, striking a balance between familiarity and modern minimalism.
Crafted from a tactile blend of Chamois-colored Grizzly suede and rich Brun Swift leather, the bag balances softness with structure. A larger panel of Brun Swift leather at the back not only protects the suede from color transfer but also adds an additional layer of color contrast. True to its understated design, the Hermès heatstamp is discreetly placed inside the bag rather than embossed on the exterior.

Instead of the usual Hermès hardware fanfare, the Bridon goes minimal: delicate side buckles gently cinch the bag’s shape but can also be left undone for a more relaxed silhouette. Four protective feet offer another nod to the Birkin’s practical design, but with far less flash.
Much like the Birkin, the Bridon is designed to be carried primarily by hand. However, thanks to its slightly elongated handles, it can also comfortably nestle in the crook of your arm.
The currently available color palette stays grounded in earthy, timeless tones—chamois, bai, brun, and gold—ensuring the Bridon complements any wardrobe effortlessly, whether you’re dressing up or down. At the Hermès presentations in Shanghai, the bag was also showcased in an all-Swift leather version in a deep, dark brown, while in Paris, it was also presented in Etoupe Grizzly suede.
At $13,800 for the Grizzly and Swift version, the Bridon is no entry-level piece – it stands shoulder to shoulder with the Birkin 30 in price, which now retails for $13,900 in Togo. But if you’re all Birkened out and are craving something quieter, sleeker, and effortlessly refined, the Bridon offers a subtle alternative. It’s the bag for those who want Hermès heritage and craftsmanship without the usual flash.
