Bopping to Dallas…

Chanel’s Métiers d’Art pre-fall show in Dallas is almost here (December 10th) and its becoming impossible to contain my excitement! I can’t wait to see what Karl and the artisans have  dreamt up after their previous extravaganzas!

The show historicizes Chanel’s founder, the infamous Coco, and will be preceded by a 30-minute film documenting the importance of the American market to the massive success of the brand. It will be released on Chanel’s website simultaneously so be sure to check it out! Fair Park in Dallas, Texas will play host to the lavish event…..but don’t get any fanciful ideas about attending. It won’t be open to the public and all invitees were chosen in Paris. Dallas will be the home to the most famous Chanel afficianados from around the globe (any guesses where PurseBop will be next week, wink wink)…

Apart from the international media hoopla the event will rightfully generate, the runway show presents an opportunity to showcase some of the greatest craftsmen and ateliers in the world. Check out FDLuxe for a great write-up on Chanel’s Paraffection division and its role in constructing Karl’s Metiers d’Art visions.

Decadence and opulence are Karl’s trademarks at the Paris-Bombay Métiers d’Art  show set in the Grand Palais in Paris. Models walked a circular runway bordered by two lavishly set long banquets piled high with fruits, flowers, candelabras and there was even a silver toy train that delivered decanters of liquor to guests…

It was fit for a king–or, in this case, ‘a Raj’…

PurseBop will be dreaming in CC’s the next few days!

Bop along here and on Instagram for PurseBop’s (packing) adventures as the countdown begins…
Time to polish up my cowboy boots, LOL

Love,
PurseBop
