By now, we’ve all heard of Alexa Chung, the Brit fashion icon (who’s a former model and editor at British Vogue!). As of today, Chung has a new accomplishment under her belt: she’s debuted an eponymous fashion label, ALEXACHUNG.
Hype over the collection has been slowly building over the last couple of months, especially on Instagram among Chung’s 2.8 million followers. The excitement culminated in the launch party held last night in a Danish church in London. The collection, which is now available online at alexachung.com, has over 150 pieces, generally priced from $300-$1,000. The full range includes clothes, shoes, and accessories that are the brainchild of Chung’s personal taste. “My taste is my taste,” she told the Wall Street Journal. “I just made things that I was missing or that interested me. I don’t know how else to do it.”
Overall, ALEXACHUNG is a mixture of classic tailoring and hints of femininity—of ruffles, Peter Pan collars, suiting, and easy street style. As the brand describes the line: “combining Parisian chic with a New York edge, as well as the very British sense of humour, it is inspired by everything from Jane Birkin’s insouciance to David Hockney’s stripy sweater.”
What are your thoughts on the collection? Is there anything you’re eyeing? YAY or NAY?
