While we may not be ready to trade summer days for cooler weather just yet, Fall 2026 is already giving handbag lovers plenty to look forward to. The year has been filled with exciting new directions — from Matthieu Blazy’s playful reinterpretations of Chanel icons to Hermès’ clever revivals and refined innovations. This fall season offers both long-awaited returns to entirely new takes on house signatures, these are the bags already capturing our attention and the ones we can’t wait to see take center stage.

Hermès – So Kelly Hobo

Good things come to those who wait — and Hermès collectors have certainly been patient. After its Spring–Summer 2026 runway appearance, the return of the So Kelly Hobo has kept enthusiasts eagerly watching for its official arrival. Originally introduced by Jean-Paul Gaultier in 2008, the relaxed silhouette offered a softer, more effortless take on the iconic Kelly. The reissued design retains its signature slouchy attitude with a seamless leather shoulder strap replacing the original D-rings. With Hermès CEO Axel Dumas confirming its September launch, the countdown is finally on.

Chanel – Maxi Flap Bag

Matthieu Blazy clearly has a thing for going big. Following the debut of his Maxi Flap Bag for Spring–Summer 2026, the designer revisits the oversized silhouette for Fall–Winter with a luxurious new twist. Crafted in croc-embossed calfskin, the bag forgoes quilted leather and is finished with adjustable slimline shoulder straps in place of Chanel’s signature interwoven leather chain.

Presented on the runway in deep khaki green and vibrant red, the Maxi Flap already hints at a wider exploration of faux exotic finishes and colorways. Ahead of its official launch in November, the statement silhouette has already been spotted on Peggy Gou in an iridescent turquoise finish — a mermaid-inspired moment that proves the Maxi Flap is set to make waves this season.

Hermès – Médor Watch Clutch

Forget checking your wrist — with the Médor Watch Clutch, your handbag has the time covered. First revealed on the Fall-Winter 2026 runway, this clever design revives a Hermès creation from 1993, when the Maison introduced the Médor watch with its dial hidden beneath the signature studded hardware. Reimagined as a clutch, the piece combines a glossy Box calfskin half-moon silhouette with a hinged frame opening, while the iconic Médor top panel lifts to reveal a discreet watch face beneath. Presented in classic Black with gold-tone hardware, as well as inky Blue and Rouge Sellier with palladium accents, the Médor Watch Clutch is a playful fusion of horology and handbag design.

Chanel – Mini Shopping Bag

After the Maxi Flap was reimagined in mini proportions for 26B, another of Blazy’s signature designs is getting the downsized treatment for Cruise 2027. Retaining its signature elongated east-west shape, the Mini Shopping Bag balances structure with ease through its shoulder-friendly design. Crafted with a quilted body and smooth leather upper, the front flap pocket is secured with a CC turn-lock closure, while side ties allow the silhouette to be subtly cinched. Reworked into a compact format, the extended top handles allow the bag to be carried by hand or worn comfortably over the shoulder.

Hermès - Kelly Paddock

One of the most intriguing reveals from Hermès’ Fall–Winter 2026 runway wasn’t a new bag at all — but something designed to protect one. At first glance, the piece appeared to be another Cargo-style Kelly, but a closer look revealed something far more unexpected: the Kelly Paddock, a removable protective cover designed to shield your beloved Kelly from the elements without affecting its functionality.

Crafted from durable canvas with leather or crocodile accents, the clever “raincoat” slips over the bag, allowing the top handle, flap, and sangles to remain in use. External front, side, and back pockets add a practical touch, fastening with leather-covered press studs, while reinforced corners provide extra protection. Available for Kelly 25, 30, and 32s, with trims color-matched to the bag beneath, the Kelly Paddock proves that even Hermès’ most iconic designs can be made a little more Fall-Winter friendly.

Chanel – Layered Classic Flap Bag

Who says you have to choose a favorite? For Fall–Winter 2026, Matthieu Blazy brings together two Chanel legends — the 2.55 Reissue and the Classic 11.12 — in one seriously covetable creation. The Layered Classic Flap doubles down on the details collectors know and love, combining two flaps, two iconic closures, and two generations of Chanel handbag history. Crafted in puffy quilted lambskin, the lower flap features the Mademoiselle turn-lock, while the upper flap is finished with the classic CC closure. Even the chain gets a remix, blending Bijoux-style detailing with the Maison’s signature leather-woven strap. Available in black and dark beige with gold-tone hardware, it’s the ultimate Chanel collector’s compromise.
