Another round of Hermès price increases took effect at U.S. boutiques on May 5, 2025. As anticipated last month alongside the brand’s Q1 results, Hermès passed on the increased costs from additional U.S. tariffs to American customers. While some price adjustments began rolling out as early as May 1, most products held their earlier prices for a few extra days, giving shoppers one final chance to buy a Birkin at the “old” (already increased) 2025 price.

But now, it’s official: purchasers in the United States are now paying more to cover the added 10% tariff on EU imports. Whether it’s a Birkin, a bracelet, or a blanket, all products have been impacted.

While many had braced for greater increases, the reality, as expected, was more measured. The tariff-based adjustment ranged from 3.4% to 7.1% across all products. Handbags saw an average increase of 5.1%, though the exact price adjustment varies by style and leather. For instance, the Birkin 25 in Togo has increased by 5%, from $12,100 to $12,700, reflecting a $600 jump. This spike is significant, especially considering that the Birkin 25 has now risen by nearly 30% since 2020.

It’s a similar story with the Kelly styles. Prices are up across the board, with most models rising in line with the average. Exotic versions, like the Mini Kelly in Lizard, saw steeper jumps — now retailing for $24,600 after a 5.1% hike. The studded Mini Kelly Clouté climbed even higher, up 6.6% to $29,200.

Hermès Price Hike Hits All Métiers
As warned, the latest Hermès U.S. price increase has touched every category across its métiers. From footwear to fashion jewelry, and accessories to small leather goods, there’s no category left untouched.
Jewelry prices have seen noticeable adjustments. The Amulettes Kelly Pendant, for example, recently retailed at $9,050 but is now up 5% to $9,500. The silver Farandole 160 necklace rose 4.8%, from $2,600 to $2,725. Other fine pieces, like the Adage Pendant Earrings and Kelly Gavroche Ring, also experienced similar increases of around 5%.
Footwear prices followed suit, climbing between 4.2% and 5.4%. The Oran Sandal, for instance, jumped 5.4% to $840, while the Oasis Sandal increased 4.6% to $910. Silks and belts saw comparable rises, mostly between 4% and 5.5%, with the Kelly Pocket Belt increasing 5.2% to $2,025 and the Cashmere Shawl up 5.5% to $1,450.
Ready-to-wear items experienced the steepest hikes, including the Equestrian Jacket rising nearly 10% to $10,000, and the Leather Bomber Jacket up 7.1% to $10,500.
