There’s a certain confidence in choosing a bag that doesn’t try to be recognized. The Hermès Collier d’Attelage leans into understatement, drawing on equestrian heritage rather than overt signatures.

Introduced in the Fall–Winter 2024 lineup, the Collier d’Attelage features a curved shape inspired by the harness of the same name, nodding to the decorative details found throughout the iconic 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship. The result: luxury that whispers.

Despite its minimalist design, the craftsmanship is unmistakable. A skilled saddler-leatherworker has shaped the flap, front, and back panels with curved leather, accentuated by oversized piping and rings inspired by equestrian hardware. Subtle embossed details on the flap and a leather tab add dimension, while the Hermès “Made in France” heat stamp sits discreetly under the flap.

True to its understated ethos, the bag forgoes decorative hardware. The only metal is functional: discreet rings attach an adjustable shoulder strap, allowing the bag to be worn crossbody or on the shoulder. The fastening is also elegantly simple—a leather tab secures the flap, no fiddling with the ‘H’ buckle here, emphasising the bag’s fuss-free, IYKYK appeal.

Measuring approximately 9.1 x 7.9 x 2 inches, the Collier d’Attelage is closest in size to the Hermès Constance 24, offering a generous interior while maintaining a close-to-the-body profile. A slim half-moon slip pocket at the back provides everyday practicality without disrupting the clean lines.

Offered in Epsom and Box calfskin, the Collier d’Attelage currently retails for €8,950 in Epsom. Choose from a range of neutrals like Black, Gold, and Craie, alongside Rouge H—choices that let the silhouette speak for itself.
Is the Collier d’Attelage bag the kind of under-the-radar Hermès you’ve been waiting for?
