Once upon a time, Chanel Haute Couture.
For the Fall-Winter 2026 Haute Couture collection for the House, Matthieu Blazy set the tone with a distinctly fairytale-inspired narrative. Guests received miniature storybook invitations suspended from his now-signature silver-tone pendant, while an animated teaser depicted a tiny seed growing into a towering CC-shaped beanstalk across the Paris skyline.

The fairytale world extended beyond the animated short and onto the runway itself. Oversized flowers and winding beanstalks appeared to grow directly from the set, while one model carried a book in lieu of a handbag, reinforcing the collection’s storybook spirit. Sheerness, a hallmark of Blazy’s Spring 2026 Couture debut, returned in layered gowns and delicate fabrics, while floral-inspired embellishments bloomed across the collection in embroidery, beadwork, and appliqué.

As is often the case with Haute Couture, accessories took a backseat. Instead, a series of delicate Minaudières appeared quietly throughout the collection. From the tiny seed that started it all to an assortment of whimsical creatures, the miniature designs served as tiny extensions of Blazy’s fantastical world. Their tiny proportions made them easy to overlook from afar, but a closer look revealed some of the collection’s most charming details.

Seed Minaudière
The collection’s fairytale narrative began with a tiny seed, and so too did its accessories. Presented in an organic, curved silhouette, the Seed Minaudière appeared in two iterations. The first was rendered in red and white enamel, accented with delicate vine-leaf detailing and a matching silver-tone clasp. The second adopted a richer metallic green finish paired with gold-tone hardware.
Both designs were suspended from intricate short-chain handles adorned with sculpted leaves and bean-pod motifs.

Chicken Minaudière
What came first: the chicken or the egg? In Chanel’s world, it’s the chicken.
Among the collection’s more unusual Minaudières was a chicken-shaped design rendered in richly textured metalwork. Presented in both silver-tone and a metallic red and gold iteration, each featured a striking turquoise stone eye and appeared to open at the wing. Suspended from a short chain strap, the Minaudière was further embellished with a second chain hanging from the wing, complete with a miniature egg charm.

Bear Minaudière
Don’t poke the bear. Blazy’s final Fall-Winter 2026–2027 Couture Minaudière took the form of a sleeping bear cub, rendered in richly textured metalwork. A discreet opening was concealed within the bear’s body, while the design appeared in both silver-tone and gold finishes, the latter accented with turquoise beading. Each was suspended from a short chain embellished with beehive and bumblebee charms.
