The new collection gives the Maison’s iconic Alhambra motif a rosy makeover, setting translucent pink enamel against 18K yellow gold. Instantly recognizable, but a little less precious, it marks a fresh addition to one of Van Cleef & Arpels’ most enduring designs.

A New Take on Alhambra

Rather than simply introducing another pink stone, the latest collection centers around translucent enamel, reportedly developed using a technique inspired by historic gold-ruby glassmaking. Tiny bubbles are intentionally retained within the material, creating depth and ensuring no two motifs look exactly alike.

One quirk though is that pictures may not represent the actual stone. Online reports from lucky shoppers who have seen the pieces notes that the pink shifts depending on skin tone and the colors worn alongside it. Others have said the enamel appears more dimensional and glossy in person than in photographs, with a hue reminiscent of Carnelian.

Five Pieces to Know

The pink enamel will reportedly appear across five familiar Alhambra styles, from the classic one-motif pendant to the more substantial 20-motif long necklace. Rumored pricing has also begun circulating ahead of the September 1 launch, reportedly starting at $3,300 for the Vintage Alhambra pendant.

Notably, the Magic Alhambra earrings are the only pieces to feature two finishes, pairing the new pink enamel with a guilloché gold motif for added texture and contrast.
