Bags on the Loewe Fall 2024 Runway

Over the last few seasons, Loewe has emerged as one of LVMH’s hot fashion properties. Ironically, Loewe bears the quiet luxury reputation, notwithstanding the large logo-ed branding of its jeans, sneakers, and raffia tote. However, beyond these items, particularly when it comes to handbags, the designs are modern and distinctive.

For Fall 2024, the bags carried by the runway models are styles we have previously seen, particularly the Flamenco, the Squeeze, and the Puzzle Tote. Now, though, they are reimagined in fabrics matching the story of the collection as well as exotic leathers.

The Flamenco Purse

Resembling an east-west pouch in soft Nappa lambskin with hand-knotted drawstrings and a distinctive donut chain, the Flamenco added exotic leathers for the Fall 2024 runway. The Flamenco line is one of Loewe’s most enduring styles, originally launched in the 1970s. It was relaunched in 2010, and now, with the Flamenco Purse, Creative Director Jonathan Anderson has put his mark on the design.

The Squeeze Bag

One of Loewe’s newer styles, Loewe’s Squeeze Bag, entered the scene in Fall 2023. The name came from its squishy handle, and the design includes an adjustable donut chain that allows the Squeeze to be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, as well as carried by hand.

Like the Flamenco, the Fall 2024 runway not only brought exotic leather options, but it provided a canvas of sorts for Anderson’s thematic collection.

The Puzzle Tote

Loewe’s Puzzle Tote also received the exotic treatment for Fall 2024, seen on the runway in turquoise and green. A little puzzle history: the original Puzzle bag was designed and released for men around 2015. It quickly became an “it” bag for men and women. And then in 2023, the Puzzle Tote was released, a north-south design that, according to the brand, “takes the iconic bag’s signature geometric lines and reimagines them in graphic and architectural panels that allow the bag to fold completely flat, making it the perfect travel companion.” Dare we add, again, this style is for everyone!

Finally, two other bags didn’t fit neatly into the above topics. A large denim bag may be the Squeeze. And the second, well, we’ll keep you post whether it is a handbag or an asparagus prop.
