My first Jige... and it is furry!

I have just received my first Jige Elan and it is part furry with a lizard trim or as they say in the language of Hermes, Veau Doblis / Lezard Niloticus in Noisette / Bleu Petrole. I would love to hear from any of you that have a similar item as to how you look after it. My SA told me it is so delicate that I should try not to ever sweat on it! And any advice on what you carry in it? It seems too slender for anything other than cards and cash. I appreciate your input!

Thank you so much my friend. You just never know what you are going to get with Hermes, do you? I am so excited to have gotten this Jige, hopefully it will be the first of many.

Congratulations on this unique bag. I love jiges and think they are so versatile! No idea though how to take care of suede. No sweat on it? My hands would be sweating when holding this bag!!!! Hahaha…I think you shouldn’t stress and just use it. That’s what I would do!

Thanks so much. I definitely need to get a leather one now that I have this one because I think it would be more wearable. I will take your advice though and just use it. Usually when I get an unusual bag I stare at it for a while and think it will never leave the house but that eventually passes. Bags are meant to be carried after all!

This is really beautiful Stylish Sheba :)
Very unique and distinct. I remember seeing this sueded leather swatch at Hermes recently when I visited Hermes with @dreamingofH. We wondered what style of bag would be made in this luxurious material. I guess is the beauty they had in mind. Congratulations on this treasure. You have some exceptional H pieces. That constance of yours will forever be my HOLY GRAIL C ❤️
Thank you for sharing with us here on BopTalk.
It’s a HANDLE WITH CARE piece! I hope to learn from others here what to apply to safe guard…

Thank you Purse Bop, that was a lovely story to read about you having seen the swatch before. The store near me is so tiny we very rarely get to see many swatches and envisage what they might become. It is great to have the forum here when you get something in a new material to be able to get care suggestions from other more experienced Boppers.

Incredible! So unique and stunning. From what I understand that lovely, superfine suede should maybe be treated with moisture repelling spray, perhaps?! Scotch-guard or something similar. That way a dreaded bead of sweat would bead up and fall off! And the lizard is surprisingly durable in my experience as long as it doesn’t get overly dried out, as with any exotic skin. But def ask your SA what you could treat it with to prevent water spots. Love it! ????

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it as I haven’t owned a piece in this suede material before. The scotch guard is a great idea, I’ll check into that with my SA. I always find when I get an unusual piece I am so scared to take it anywhere for a while and then I have to remind myself that it is a bag and it needs to be used!
