Does gold or palladium hardware hold its value better on a K25 Sellier?

Question:

Hi PB, what do you think is a best first quota bag combo? I am thinking to push for black Kelly 25, Sellier, epsom. Should I insist on gold hardware or silver? I like both hardwares but curious which hardware holds its value better from an investment perspective.

I believe you should choose the hardware you like best without regard to investment value. You are making this purchase because you love the bag and want to use it and enjoy it. The difference in investment value of gold hardware versus palladium hardware is negligible on the resale market. The most important factor on the resale market is the condition of the bag. If it is brand new, never used, it will be valued higher. If it has been pre-loved, the price is adjusted depending on the condition and the popularity of the specifications of the bag. Most would say that gold hardware is more popular, but there are just as many people that prefer palladium hardware. That is why there are two (or more) choices. If you like both, you could say no preference on hardware. But if you prefer one over the other, you should specify so you hopefully get the hardware you prefer.
