Should I Start A Relationship with a Hermès SA If I Am Not Ready for a Quota Bag Yet?

Dear PurseBop,

I’m interested in acquiring Hermès items but I’m not yet ready to start a wishlist for a quota bag.

I’d like to explore Hermès’ smaller items like cup sets, dinnerware, fashion jewelry, SLGs, shoes. I know my spend won’t be much and rather sporadic, so I’m not sure if it’s worth trying to develop a relationship with a SA. I would love to chat with a SA and explore pieces in the store with them. I think I’d be a rather easy going client since I’m not after a quota bag, but I don’t want it to seem like I’m wasting their time either.

A follow up question would be whether someone without a wishlist would ever get a bag offer!

Dear Not Ready For A Quota Bag:

It is always a good idea to start a relationship with a Hermès SA as soon as you start shopping in the store. Take your time and choose a SA you really like.

It does not matter how much you spend, how many items you buy, or how often you make purchases. Take your time to explore and get to know the brand. The best way to do this is with one SA.

Enjoy the entire shopping experience. But do it with one SA with whom you enjoy shopping. They do not mind if you are not ready to place a wishlist with them. When and if you are ready will be the right time. There is no rush.

Also, it is possible to get a quota or non-quota bag offer without placing a formal wishlist. It can all be discussed with your SA. Each boutique is run slightly differently depending on the city and country it is located. An open communication with your SA allows you to get all your questions answered. You may find you are interested in placing a wishlist or letting your SA know what style, size, and color bag you may be interested in acquiring in the future.
