Dear PurseBop,Every season I hear people talking about “25A,” “26C,” and “Métiers d’Art,” but I can’t keep them straight. What are the different Chanel collections, what do the letters mean, and when do they typically arrive in boutiques?
Dear Chanel Collector:
There are 8 different Chanel Collections that are released approximately every 6-8 weeks. Each one is designated by the Year and an identifying letter as follows:
26P – Printemp (Spring/Summer Pre-Collection) – February
26S – Spring/Summer Act 1 (Ready to Wear) – March
Coco Beach – April/May
26M – Métiers d’Art – June
26A – Fall/Winter Pre-Collection – July
26B – Fall/Winter Act 1 (Ready to Wear) – September
Coco Neige – October
Cruise (Resort) – November
For handbag collectors, the Pre-Collections (26P and 26A) often fly under the radar but can include some of the season’s most wearable, and hardest-to-find, classic bags. Meanwhile, Métiers d’Art is beloved for its exceptional craftsmanship and rich embellishments, while Cruise tends to feature relaxed silhouettes, playful colors, raffia, and vacation-ready pieces.
The Collections, released during the months above, are a reliable guide. However, individual boutiques may receive merchandise over several weeks both before and after the official collection launch. Your Fashion Advisor is usually your best source for precise delivery timing.
