Dear PurseBop:
Thanks for any advice you can give! I just got a beautiful Pegasus Pop Herbag in nearly pristine condition. I’d like to have the canvas sprayed by a cobbler to protect it — it’s the cream-based colour with the Pegasus pattern on the front, of course. What’s the best way to protect the light canvas and keep my bag looking as nice as possible for as long as possible?
Dear New Pegasus Pop Herbag Owner:
How exciting to have secured a beautiful Pegasus Pop Herbag. It is understandable that you would like to protect the light colored canvas. However, before taking your bag to your local cobbler, be aware that in order to maintain the integrity and authenticity of your bag, only authorized Hermès personnel may repair your bag.
Our best advice is to bring your bag to a Hermès boutique in your home town or to the Mothership Hermès boutique located in Paris. The after care department (often referred to as the Hermès spa) can advise you on how to best protect your beautiful bag.
Hermès has many after care departments in many of their boutiques, usually located in major cities around the world. In order to maintain the integrity of the bag and the ability to have your bag repaired by the aftercare or spa in the future should you need it, it is important to only allow Hermès authorized personnel to work on your bag.
The experienced and knowledgeable after care department is best suited to give you advice on how to care for your new bag.
