Goyard’s Latest Drop Has Hermès Evelyne Fans Doing a Double Take

Does the shape of the newest Goyard bag seem familiar? With echoes of the Hermès Evelyne, the new Musette PM is lightweight, hands-free and quietly luxurious. It feels designed for exactly the same everyday function — just with a different Parisian accent.

Joining Goyard’s ever-evolving lineup beyond its signature totes, the Musette PM is the Maison’s latest exploration of everyday functionality. The Musette PM revisits Goyard’s archival “Île de Ré” bag, itself inspired by utilitarian musette styles used by postmen, cyclists and factory workers — now translated for modern-day life.

Where the Hermès Evelyne is defined by its sporty perforated “H”, the Musette PM instead places Goyard’s signature canvas in the spotlight. Crafted in lightweight Goyardine canvas and trimmed with Decize Taurillon leather for added structure, the silhouette also echoes the Evelyne’s softly curved corners and relaxed, open-top construction.

Both designs share that easy, everyday accessibility, with open-top silhouettes secured by simple leather tab closures. The Hermès Evelyne uses a press-stud fastening, while the Musette PM opts for a magnetic closure on a leather tab, subtly hot-stamped with Goyard’s logo. The Musette PM is completed with a detachable, adjustable leather crossbody strap, with a height of shoulder strap: 43 cm – 50 cm (approximately 16.9–19.7 inches), offering both shoulder and crossbody styling options.

In terms of size, the Musette PM measures approximately 11 x 8.7 x 4 inches, placing it closest to the Hermès Evelyne 29, just slightly shorter and noticeably thicker in its profile.  It can comfortably accommodate everyday essentials — think phone, wallet, keys, and even a small water bottle and compact umbrella. The interior remains intentionally minimal, featuring a single slip pocket for small essentials and a pared-back linen and cotton lining that keeps the overall design lightweight and unstructured.

Unlike the Evelyne 29, which includes an exterior back slip pocket, the Musette PM opts for a clean exterior. The new style is currently offered exclusively in the PM size, though it remains to be seen whether Goyard will expand the line in the future with mini or larger iterations.

Available across Goyard’s signature palette, the bag is offered in eleven shades, including Black, Red, Burgundy and White, each paired with matching leather trim. The only exception is the iconic Black & Tan combination.

Ultimately, both the Musette PM and the Hermès Evelyne 29 sit in that sweet spot of effortless, everyday luxury for life on the move. The Evelyne has long held its place as the quiet icon of the category, but Goyard’s Musette PM offers a tempting alternative.
