Hermès returned to its iconic venue, La Garde Républicaine, for the Autumn–Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear show on Saturday, 7th March. In the days leading up to the presentation, Hermès set the mood with a series of atmospheric teasers: a model standing on a windswept cliffside by the ocean, layered in seasonally appropriate wool pieces, while the full moon peeked through clouds, casting the scene in deep, inky tones.

The runway collection embraced the season’s cooler temperatures with layered styling: short jackets paired with thigh-high boots and streamlined leather pants for a continuous, seamless silhouette. Polo necks peeping from beneath wool and leather coats, while short skirts were layered over matching sheer colored tights.
Inside-out contrasts emerged through shearling trims and flashes of color, softening leather while lending structure to softer fabrics—a look Hermès described “a modernist spirit, transfigured.” Equestrian references remained ever-present, from sharp houndstooth wool coats to jodhpurs with an iridescent weft, with one particular look carrying, in the Maison’s words, “the promise of a covert night ride at dusk.”

A refined, tonal palette defined the runway, with black, rich ochre, burgundy, and gray leading the way, punctuated by touches of color. Hermès framed the season as one where “night resists reduction to black,” its shades moving from the warmth of sunset to colder, moonlit tones that heighten texture and illuminate surfaces. Throughout the collection, leather caught the light while wool fabrics subtly shifted, with sulphur yellow and oxblood red vibrating against the darker base.

Hermès’ approach to bags this season balanced heritage and reinvention. Icons such as the Picotin, Plume, and Bolide appeared in mini sizes, while the Kelly received utilitarian updates. Contemporary silhouettes like the Arçon were rendered in fresh fabrications, alongside a series of entirely new styles.
Here’s a closer look at the bags defining Hermès’ Autumn-Winter 2026 collection…
Picotin
First teased in the pre-show video, the Picotin walked the runway in the petite size 14, affectionately known as the Micro. For the first time, Hermès rendered this familiar silhouette in polished Box calfskin, giving the petite design a structured presence. Even the signature ‘H’ padlock was wrapped in matching box calfskin, echoing the Maison’s leather-clad padlocks seen on exotic Picotin variations, and styled complete with its key. The Micro Picotin 14 appeared in a deep navy hue, Rouge Sellier, and black, all paired with palladium hardware.

Medor Clutch
The first bag to appear on the runway was a new Medor clutch, crafted from glossy Box calfskin. Defined by its distinctive half-moon silhouette and hard-case construction, the bag is secured with a clasp adorned with Hermès’ signature Medor hardware. The clutch was presented in classic black with gold-tone hardware, as well an inky blue and Rouge Sellier paired with palladium accents.

Studded To Go Bag
Another new clutch appeared on the runway, potentially signaling a fresh addition to Hermès’ popular ‘To Go’ line of small leather goods. Crafted in black Box calfskin, the sleek, longline wallet-style design features a flap-front closure accented with two studded square plaques in gold-tone hardware.

Bolide-Inspired Zip Top Bag
One of the new additions to the Hermès lineup this season is a curvaceous, structured bag that feels like a modern, equestrian reinterpretation of the classic Bolide. The construction is uniquely layered: a curved leather panel sweeps across the top of the silhouette, remaining open where the handles meet the body.
The dual top handles feature buckle detailing and are anchored to the top panel, flowing seamlessly underneath so they “peep out” from beneath the leather. Their design, reminiscent of a horse’s girth, ties the bag firmly to the Maison’s equestrian heritage. The design is finished with a two-way zipper that spans the entire length of the bag, and features four protective feet on the base. The bag was presented in Gold, Rouge Sellier, and Black.

Flap Shoulder Bag
Hermès introduced a new box-style bag, structured with an accordion-inspired silhouette and two main compartments. Crafted from glossy Box calfskin, the rigid minimalist design features a flap front covering three-quarters of the bag’s body. The two-tone Electrum hardware curves outward and appears to hook over the flap to keep the bag secured, while a slip pocket at the bag offers easy-access to essentials. An integrated, adjustable slim leather shoulder strap allows for versatile styling, though on the runway the models carried it casually by hand. The bag was presented in Black, Deep Blue, Rouge Sellier, and Black.

East-West Handheld Bag
Hermès introduced a mini bag with an elongated, sculptural form on the runway. The flat top handle, reminiscent of the Kelly Pochette, stretches across the length of the bag, while the top panel of leather of the bag anchors to the sides, which taper inward to create a defined shape. A secondary flat strap anchors to the body, offering an alternate style. Four protective metal feet complete the design, which was presented in a shade similar to Jaune Milton and classic Black.

Plume
Where Véronique Nichanian’s final Men’s Fall–Winter 2026 collection celebrated the Plume in full size, the Women’s Autumn–Winter 2026 lineup offered a downsized interpretation. Hermes featured the Mini Plume in black, and light gray ostrich leather alongside a vibrant lime green suede Doblis version, and a classic leather style in a soft yellow shade similar to Jaune Milton.

Kelly
As if a classic Box calfskin Kelly isn’t attention-grabbing enough, Hermes used it as the backdrop for an expansion of its accessories offerings.
First up, a leather shoulder strap offered a subtle shift in attitude, from ladylike to fierce. Maintaining the standard Kelly strap length but embellished with a chunky palladium chain that matched the bag’s hardware.

What appeared to be a Kelly Cargo was actually a protective cover for the bag, reminiscent of the cover recently showcased on the Plume in Hermès’ Men’s Fall–Winter 2026 lineup. Crafted from what looks like military canvas, the cover slips over the Kelly, allowing the top handle to thread through while the sangles secure as usual, giving the bag a utilitarian vibe. Front, side, and back pockets provide practical storage, fastening with press studs, while reinforced corners and trim in leather or matte alligator add durability. Showcased across sizes from 25 to 32, the cover’s leather trims matched the bag underneath, creating a cohesive look.

Bolide
Echoing the fresh fabrications seen on the Kelly, the Bolide takes on the same chain-adorned shoulder strap for a touch of edge on its mini silhouette.
A larger Bolide also appeared, dressed with a cover similar to that seen on the Kelly. The slip pockets at the front and back run the length of the bag, each finished with a gentle curve that follows the Bolide’s rounded silhouette.

Arçon
First introduced in Spring–Summer 2023, the Arçon brings a modern sensibility to Hermès’ heritage through its crescent silhouette and pared back, practical detailing.
For Autumn–Winter 2026, the bag is crafted in soft suede, while the handle and accents remain in Swift leather, creating a gentle contrast that maintains the overall tonal look. Presented in brown shades, the Arçon was carried by hand on the runway.

Garden Party
The Garden Party appeared in the Voyage size, rendered in what appears to be a water-resistant canvas paired with tonal leather handles and trim. A second colorway in deep burgundy echoed the iridescent fabrics seen throughout the ready-to-wear collection.

Birkin
Not to be missed, a single Birkin appeared on the Autumn–Winter 2026 runway, rounding out the season’s iconic duo alongside Kelly. Presented in Rouge Sellier, this classic 35 cm silhouette was crafted in what appears to be Chèvre leather.

Hobo Bag
Returning for Autumn–Winter 2026 is the newly introduced Spring–Summer 2026 equestrian-inspired hobo. Smaller than the Arçon yet echoing its signature silhouette, the design features a slouchy, supple structure with a handle flowing seamlessly from the body. A secondary leather strap, reminiscent of a horse’s girth, fastens with a buckle at the top, allowing the bag to be carried by hand or over the shoulder.
The front is secured by a leather tab and lobster clasp hooking onto one of two metal rings—a subtle nod to the Double Longe bag from Fall–Winter 2025. The bag was presented in a soft, Sésame-like shade, Ebene, and Black.
