“The invisible becomes tangible.” Hermès’ words set the tone for Spring–Summer 2027, presented on Saturday, October 3, at La Garde Républicaine in Paris. Titled “The shape of air,” the collection explored lightness through silhouettes designed to move with the body: hems lifted, sleeves filled, vents opened, and fabrics shifted with each step, creating a sense of weightlessness on the runway.

Sheerness and translucent layering gave the runway an airy feel: fine-gauge knits with vertical stripes were layered together, while lightweight technical jackets added structure. Technical fabrics appeared alongside cotton and open-knit dresses, and leather belts cinched the waist again and again, giving the silhouettes definition.
The color scheme began softly, led by an off-white resembling Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer. From there, misty Bleu Brume gave way to sandy and earthy neutrals, before the palette warmed into vivid Orange Sunset and Jaune Tournesol, capturing the transition from cool daylight to the final rays of the sun.

As expected, leather remained a recurring thread throughout, trimming jacket-and-skirt suits and lightweight trenches, while belts and cords helped shape the silhouettes, appearing both as standalone accessories and integrated into the garments themselves. Chunky leather bangles, stacked along the wrists, added another tactile element.
The bags followed a similarly expansive path, bringing together new designs with familiar faces from seasons past and archival silhouettes.

New Toolbox Silhouette
Could this be a new chapter for the Hermès Toolbox? First introduced in 2010, the design has been noticeably absent from the Hermès lineup in recent years. For Spring-Summer 2027, it reappears in a reworked form.
Its distinctive structured top remains, with the folded, milk-carton-like frame. The original dual top-handle configuration has been replaced by a single tubular handle, anchored to the body by D-rings. A long, flat shoulder strap extends from the back of the bag for hands-free wear. A new front fastening takes the form of an enlarged plaque, with two rivets that release the closure and a central keyhole detail, while five protective feet anchor the base. The style was presented in Terre, Étoupe, and White, all paired with palladium hardware.

Birkin-Inspired Tote
Eliminating hardware entirely, Hermès offered a stripped-down, minimalist tote, shaped like a Birkin but free of its signature codes. Crafted in a soft calfskin, the trapezoidal silhouette features elongated leather straps attached directly to the front and back of the bag. Unlike the Birkin, the opening sits beneath the structured top panel without the signature flap.
This style was presented in various sizes on the runway, ranging from proportions comparable to a Birkin 25 through to a Birkin 35, and across a range of neutrals including Black, Gold, and White, alongside a pop of red.

Cadena Hobo Bag
New for Spring–Summer 2027, the Cadena Bag brings a sleek, curved silhouette to the runway. Roomy and relaxed, the hobo-style design features an open top and a long, adjustable shoulder strap. A signature Cadena padlock adorns the front, adding a Hermès touch to the otherwise minimalist design.

Ring Bag
The Ring Bag circles back in a sleek mini silhouette crafted from smooth Box calfskin, revisiting a style first introduced in the 1950s. An envelope-style flap is secured by the signature Ring closure, while a long, adjustable shoulder strap allows for versatile styling.

Mangeoire Bucket Bag
Another oldie returns from the archive, this time 1949’s Mangeoire bucket bag. This time around equestrian-inspired circular cut outs dot the bag, and the original twisted rope top handle has morphed into a metal creation in the same shape

Kelly Hobo
First reintroduced in the 2026 Spring–Summer collection as the Kelly Hobo, the reworked Jean Paul Gaultier-era So Kelly returns for another season. The relaxed silhouette retains its clean lines and signature sangle detailing, while the original D-ring hardware has been replaced by an integrated, adjustable leather strap. On the runway, the Kelly Hobo appeared in bright white, Sésame, and a deep brown similar to Terre – both paired with palladium hardware.

Bolide-Inspired Zip Top Bag
Back for a second season is an equestrian-influenced version of the classic Bolide. With a wider base and long flat handles, the bag is constructed from two contrasting leathers. A two-way zipper runs the full length, or is it arch, of the bag, while five protective feet complete the base.

Le Petit Sac
The Le Petit Sac is back. First introduced for Fall–Winter 2025, this streamlined style offers minimalist proportions in a subtly curved silhouette. Its slim profile is topped by a curved handle, anchored to the body with distinctive H-shaped D-rings.

Militaire Canvas Bucket Bag
The Militaire Canvas Bucket Bag makes another runway appearance, originally showcased in the Men’s Spring–Summer 2027 collection. Its relaxed bucket silhouette combines the utilitarian spirit of the Herbag with the rounded proportions of the Picotin, crafted in Militaire canvas with Hunter cowhide trim reinforcing the base and edges. A Clou de Selle closure secures the opening, while a simple canvas loop handle completes the pared-back design.

H Canvas Hobo
Another canvas offering, the H Canvas Hobo from the Men’s Spring–Summer 2026 lineup returns here in a downsized format. The smaller silhouette retains its sturdy leather base, wide single shoulder strap, Arçon-inspired ring attachment with a key clochette, and signature padlock suspended from a slim leather tab.

Etrivière Shopping Bags
The Etrivière Shopping Bag arrives in two iterations. First is the familiar style from the men’s line, with integrated, adjustable straps secured with the Etrivière buckle allow for hand or shoulder carry.
Alongside it, an elevated all-leather version features dual top handles and a long, adjustable shoulder strap, echoing the original Etrivière construction. A signature Etrivière buckle, clochette, and S-lock detail complete the design.

Garden Party Voyage
The Garden Party Voyage couldn’t be missed, given its oversized proportions and vibrant Orange Sunset colorway – crafted in H canvas with tonal leather trim.

Plume
The Plume hit the runway in two distinctive formats. First was the grab-and-go Mini in smooth Box calfskin, rendered in a deep brown reminiscent of Bai Brun. Following suit, the decidedly larger Plume Voyage Fourre-Tout, more commonly associated with the men’s division, offered a travel-ready take in a rich Gold.
