Even if you’re only loosely familiar with Goyard, chances are you know the totes. The signature Goyardine canvas has become synonymous with a certain insider luxury — no flashy ads, just a devoted following that understands the Maison’s heritage and craftsmanship. But beyond the Saint Louis and Artois totes, there’s another piece in the Goyard lineup that deserves attention — the Belvédère.

Rooted in utility and refined through decades of craftsmanship, the Belvédère is a lesser-known classic. Inspired by the small bags once carried by log drivers in 19th-century France, it’s named after a scenic viewing point in Clamecy — a nod to Goyard’s Burgundy heritage.

The Belvédère is a structured yet streamlined satchel, with a silhouette similar to Louis Vuitton’s Samur bag. It features a flap opening secured by a leather tab and metal loop fastening system, with silver-tone hardware discreetly engraved with “Goyard Paris.” The body is crafted from Goyard’s signature Goyardine canvas, complemented by Decize Taurillon leather trim, including an adjustable shoulder strap for versatile wear.

Offered in two sizes, the Belvédère balances form and function with thoughtful details. The PM, measuring 8.7 x 2.8 x 6.3 inches, is compact and lightweight, yet roomy enough for essentials such as a small wallet, keys, phone, and a few personal items. A slim exterior back slip pocket provides easy access for your phone, while two interior slip pockets help keep smaller items organized and within reach. The design fosters organization without feeling bulky, making it ideal for hands-free, everyday wear.

The larger MM size measures 11.4 x 3.5 x 7.5 inches, offering more storage for those who carry a bit extra. It easily fits a large iPad, keys, a card holder, a small cosmetics case, and sunglasses in a soft case, while maintaining the silhouette. Depending on how cleverly you pack, it can also accommodate a small water bottle. Like the PM, it features the same pocket configuration — a convenient exterior back slip pocket for easy phone access and two interior slip pockets for organizing smaller essentials. Despite the increased capacity, the MM retains Goyard’s signature lightweight feel, though carrying more will naturally add some weight.

An adjustable strap gives the Belvédère its adaptable edge, allowing it to be worn crossbody or on the shoulder. Both PM and MM sizes feature a comfortable strap length that suits everyday wear and on-the-go lifestyles.

Available in eleven signature colorways, the Belvédère collection spans from neutral Black and Gray to vibrant Yellow, Orange, and Green — each accented with complementary leather trim. The Black & Tan option stands out with contrasting tan leather. Every colorway also features Goyard’s iconic yellow cotton lining.

Currently, Goyard’s Belvédère MM retails for €2,500 in Europe.
It may not be the flashiest piece in the Goyard lineup, but with its heritage roots, functional design, and unmistakable canvas, the Belvédère holds its own.
