The first Monday of May is the day that fashion girlies wait all year for. Since 1948, top A-list celebs and designers have shown off their stunning ensembles at the Met Gala. The staircase to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City transforms into the ultimate fashion runway. This year’s theme honored Karl Lagerfeld and his amazing body of work created during his career with Chanel, Fendi, Chloe and his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld.
Although the celebrity outfits and archive Chanel dresses were breathtaking, we had our eyes glued to the handbags. In some cases the purses made it into the red carpet photos, but in other instances, they were held by an assistant or partner.

Chanel Looks
While we anxiously awaited the arrival of Karl’s Choupette, there were two celebrities dressed as her, Doja Cat and Jared Leto. Doja Cat’s outfit included a matching furry cat bag. (Where’s yours, Jared?)
