One year, four collections, and Chanel continues to evolve under Matthieu Blazy, as he marked his first anniversary at the house with the Spring–Summer 2027 collection, unveiled at the Grand Palais.

In the lead-up to the show, the first clues arrived with the invitation: another silver pendant, this time featuring a flying swallow and a cloud — symbols of freedom, mystery, and a sense of homecoming. Then came David Bailey’s pre-show photographs, featuring birds, a nest, and feathers hinting at a softer, nature-focused mood.

Showtime
The collection took flight from the very start. Beneath the Grand Palais’ ornate glass roof, illuminated birds swooped at varying heights, accompanied by a glowing moon.

Blazy leaned into a weightless approach to dressing, layering sheer skirts with fringe-gauge knits and delicate floral-trimmed pieces. Tiny posies appeared here and there, while abstract, ornate blooms brought a bolder decorative touch. A flurry of cloud-like silhouettes added to the sense of lightness, with cloud-printed gowns seemingly floating down the runway. Dropped waists and softened shoulders loosened the proportions, while off the shoulder tops added a feminine flourish, paired with relaxed low waist tailored trousers or set against voluminous tulle skirts.

Bouclé brought a familiar Chanel note to the mix, appearing in classic two-piece skirt suits, while some of the house’s iconic jackets were simply carried by hand as models made their way down the runway. The palette kept things grounded in black, gray, off-white, and soft beige, with flashes of poppy red, rosy pink, cornflower blue, grassy green, and sunflower yellow.

Handbags, like the collection as a whole, played with proportion, texture, and movement. Familiar Chanel shapes were revisited with shifted proportions and unexpected finishes, from exaggerated CCs and elongated silhouettes to softened trapezoids and slouchy hobos. Quilting, lambskin, croc embossing, and rubber finishes layered in texture, while decorative chains and charms gave classics a distinctly Blazy-era twist.
Here’s a first glimpse at the Spring-Summer 2027 handbags.
Coco’s Original 2.55 Flap Bag
You can’t get much closer to the source than this. Blazy brouth Coco Chanel’s personal 2.55 from 1955 to this runway, transporting Gabrielle’s vision directly into Chanel’s Spring–Summer 2027 collection.
The 2.55 has been a recurring focus since Blazy’s debut, where Blazy played with the icon in more distorted, sculptural forms. Here, he opts for the original form rather than the reissued version, in lambskin with leather-interwoven chains, a Mademoiselle turn-lock, and quilting, its once-black leather faded through years of use.

Rubber Classic Flap Bag
First seen on the Cruise 2026/27 runway, Blazy’s rubber Classic Flap bounces into this collection in pale blue and white. Like the original, open-work lattice brings lightness to the double-flap style, finished with tonal hardware for a monochromatic effect.

Oversized CC Flap Bag
This season, the CC isn’t staying small. Set against an elongated, softly structured Flap Bag, the exaggerated turn-lock dominates the front, spanning a third of the bag’s body. A subtle pinched detail shapes the sides, while a front pocket sits neatly beneath the flap. Traditional leather-interlaced double chain straps complete the design.

Trapezoidal Flap Bag with Chain
Crafted in plain leather, this trapezoidal Flap Bag is topped with a single elongated leather handle and secured with a classic CC turn-lock. The chain is purely decorative: it drapes from the base of the handle down to the CC.
A smaller version with proportions reminiscent of the Coco Top Handle adds quilting to the central front panels. The slightly elongated curved top handle pairs with a long chain shoulder strap. Again, a draped chain adds the finishing touch.

Maximalist Flap Bag
Blazy turns up the volume with an eclectic mix of texture and color across the Flap Bag silhouette. The duo combines textured tiger-print calfskin with suede and embroidered panels, arranged in bold blocks of yellow, blue, red, and green. Color-matched hardware completes the look.

Maxi Flap Bag
The new Maxi goes super maximal. Crafted in woven fabric, it combines red, white, and black, with an oversized CC turn-lock seen on the original ‘90s styles.

Hobo Bag
There’s a new Chanel Hobo in town. Elongated and gently slouchy, the zip-top bag takes a cue from the multi-pocketed Cambon Reporter Bag of the noughties, with small pockets tucked at either end. Its chain strap placement echoes the Chanel 25, while a front pocket, secured with a CC turn-lock, takes its proportions from a classic Chanel long wallet.

Totes & Shopping Bags
The V-shaped cutout tote from the Métiers d’Art 2026 collection returns for Spring–Summer 2027, this time in croc-embossed calfskin and in tiger print sequins. Alongside it, Blazy introduced a softer take on the V-cut silhouette, with the sharp angles rounded at the top and elongated leather handles extending from the body. Both reveal a flash of burgundy inside, with a CC peeking over the top to secure the inner pocket.

For a fresh take on one of Coco’s icons, a 2.55-inspired shopping bag brings the house signature into a new silhouette. Rendered in flat-grained calfskin, the curved shape includes dual Bijoux chain shoulder straps and is finished with a Mademoiselle turn-lock.

Clutch Bags
Forget the boulangerie — Chanel has its own baguette. This elongated clutch stretches the classic under-the-arm shape to an almost comical length, with a structured black lambskin body, softly curved edges, plush quilting, and a small gold-tone CC clasp at the center.

Croc-embossed clutches continue into Spring–Summer 2027, now in elongated silhouettes, including a sleek style with a softly folded flap, secured at the top by a CC turn-lock. The same shape also appears in flat quilted leather.
A second croc-embossed style takes a vintage turn, with a structured frame defining the shape. The flap fastens with a metal clasp, while a half-moon cutout beneath it creates a small reveal between the hardware and leather.
