The Chanel Spring–Summer 2027 runway explored the Maison’s past, present, and future — and the guests seemed to take a similar approach with their handbags. As fashion insiders arrived at the Grand Palais, they carried a mix of Chanel icons, recent Blazy creations, and debuted styles hot off the runway, offering a handbag history lesson of their own.

Pearl Necklace Minaudière
Alena Mills merged Chanel’s past and present, mixing pieces from different eras with a Fall–Winter 2026 menswear-inspired look. The content creator wore a tailored jacket with a drop-waist pleated skirt, then doubled up on pre-Blazy-era Minaudières. Fall–Winter 2025’s Pearl Necklace Minaudière, a supersized take on the house’s classic pearl necklace, was styled crossbody. Then, she carried the Métiers d’Art 2023/24 Tea Box Minaudière with its chain strap. Topping it all off was a black felt fascinator with cat ears from Blazy’s debut Métiers d’Art collection.

2.55 Handbag
Arriving for her first Chanel show, rapper and singer JT showed up in the opening look from the Fall–Winter 2026 runway – a black wool-and-silk jacket and skirt suit with subtle CC button detailing. Her handbag, not so subtle: the reworked 2.55 Handbag in black lambskin with a chunky Bijoux chain vertically across the front.

Sequin Flap Bag
Pia Mehta donned her stripes for an unmissable Chanel look. She wore an orange-and-black tiger sequin midi dress from the Métiers d’Art 2026 collection, layered beneath a bold red fur jacket. On the runway, the dress was paired with a matching tiger-print bag, but Pia opted for a clash, swapping it for a red, white, and black sequin Flap Bag from the same collection.

Acorn Minaudière
Straight from an oak tree in Central Park, the Acorn Minaudière made its way to influencer Lolita Osmanova, who paired the whimsical piece with a monochromatic tweed coat. From the Métiers d’Art 2026 collection, the Minaudière is crafted in smooth wood with a warm brown body and finished with a gold-tone cap scattered with shimmering strass.

Giraffe Mini Flap Bag
The Chanel menagerie represented, with Svitlana Degtyarenko carrying the burgundy giraffe Mini Flap Bag from the 2026 Métiers d’Art grouping, with a sculpted metal head one end, tasselled from the other, with four long legs on the bottom. She paired the playful bag with what may have been one of the most eye-catching jackets at the Grand Palais: a red, blue, and white textured tweed style, patterned with graphic checks and finished with frayed edges from the Métiers d’Art 2026 collection. Its silk lining offered a subtle nod to New York, where the collection was first unveiled.

Crocodile Embossed Clutches
Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opted for a polished accessory from the latest Chanel boutique launch. Part of the Fall–Winter 2026 collection, the navy croc-embossed clutch features a gently rounded top and subtle V-shaped base, framed by a structured gold-tone band that wraps around the upper edge to define the silhouette and secure the closure. A tiny CC emblem completes the design.

Chanel brand ambassador Nicole Kidman debuted a clutch straight from the Spring–Summer 2027 runway. Rendered in burgundy croc-embossed calfskin, the elongated silhouette features a softly folded flap secured at the top with a CC turn-lock. Actress Sandra Hüller offered a second take on the style in rich khaki green.
