Celine’s Michael Rider era has officially arrived, and the house is smiling. At the heart of his Spring 2026 debut collection is the Smile lineup, featuring the New Luggage and the Flat Cabas New Luggage, both updated with Rider’s contemporary touch while nodding to Celine’s heritage.

Alongside the Smile lineup, Rider has introduced new and reimagined Celine styles including the Trio Flap, Soft Triomphe Besace, and Halfmoon Soft Triomphe. Each piece balances classic sophistication with Rider’s preppy Parisian sensibility, proving that Celine’s legacy can evolve while staying unmistakably chic.

Smiling New Luggage
The Smiling Luggage brings a playful new twist to one of Celine’s most iconic bags. First introduced by Phoebe Philo in Spring-Summer 2010, the original Luggage quickly became a defining icon of the brand, celebrated for its clean lines, functional design, and signature wavy detailing—a nod to Céline Vipiana’s 1969 Mistral bag. Michael Rider revisits this classic in his debut collection, softening the silhouette and adding a whimsical “smile” zipper across the front, giving the bag its name. Crafted in supple, shiny lambskin, the bag has a subtle sheen, with refined sewn-back construction and piped edges that create a rounder, lighter shape while maintaining structure.

Designed for versatility, the Medium Smiling Luggage measures 6.3 x 8.7 x 14.2 inches and the Large 7.9 x 10.6 x 17.3 inches, with both sizes secured by a zip top fastening that emphasizes the iconic winged-out silhouette of the Luggage. The Medium fits comfortably in the hand or crook of the elbow, while the Large is ideal for hand and shoulder wear. Both accommodate a laptop, A4 documents, and everyday essentials. Available in Black and Deep Brown, the Medium retails for $4,350, with the Large priced at $5,200.

Flat Cabas New Luggage
The Flat Cabas New Luggage carries the smile motif into a slimmer, yet equally functional silhouette. Luxurious calfskin offers a soft sheen look, accented with gold-finish hardware, for a polished on-the-go vibe. Rider’s playful front-facing “smile” detail brings a lighthearted touch, while offering a practical pocket to stash receipts or tickets.

Flat by name and flat by nature, the Cabas New Luggage measures a seriously streamlined 0.2 x 12.4 x 17.5 inches and features one main compartment alongside an inner flat pocket for essentials. Roomy enough to house documents and a laptop, bulky items should be avoided to preserve the sleek silhouette. Finished with dual top handles offering an 8.6-inch drop, the bag fits comfortably on the shoulder or can be carried by hand. The Celine Flat Cabas New Luggage is available in Black, Ultra-Red, Citrus, and Ultra-Blue, and retails for $2,100.

Trio Flap
The Trio Flap marks the triumphant return of a Philo-era favorite from Spring/Summer 2011 that has been discontinued since 2021. Retaining its rectangular silhouette and signature trio of compartments, the bag is crafted in lambskin leather paired with the timeless jersey lining. While the original Philo-era version featured snap fastenings that allowed pouches to be detached and used alone, Rider’s Trio Flap forgoes the modular element, creating a more unified construction. Now, only the central compartment features a zip closure, while the outer sections are secured together under a single folded flap fastened with a popper – hence the name, Trio Flap. Retaining the CELINE Paris hotstamp, Rider’s version introduces the Triomphe emblem, uniting past and present signatures of the house.

The shoulder strap has been reimagined as a delicate, pared-back design attached to the sides of the bag with subtle knot detailing. It can be fully untied and adjusted to suit shoulder or crossbody styling. Measuring 8.9 x 5.1 x 1.4 inches, the Trio Flap mirrors the dimensions of the original Small Trio bag, offering a compact yet practical option for everyday carry. Currently offered in Black, Soft Tan, Citrus, Safari and Syrah (a deep burgundy) —each bag features a contrasting colored lining, making it easy to see and access your contents. The new Celine Trio Flap retails for $1,950.

Soft Triomphe Besace
Rider hasn’t forgone the Triomphe emblem entirely. The Soft Triomphe Besace reinterprets Celine’s signature hardware through a softer, more understated lens. Crafted in supple shiny lambskin leather, the bag has a relaxed, slightly rounded silhouette that feels effortless yet refined. A magnetic flap closure is adorned with a downsized version of the Triomphe emblem, that whispers rather than screams Celine.

Measuring 13.4 x 9.8 x 5.1 inches, the Soft Triomphe Besace opens to a calfskin suede-lined interior with a zip pocket beneath the flap and an additional zippered pocket at the back, secured by a popper for easy access. The body features a accordion style construction that expands when filled, enhancing its capacity while maintaining its softly structured silhouette. Meanwhile, the detachable, adjustable strap—ranging from 16.1 to 20 inches—allows for versatile styling, from crossbody to shoulder carry, or even as an oversized statement clutch. The Soft Triomphe Besace retails for $3,450 and is available in Black, Soft Tan, and Syrah each paired with gold-tone hardware.

Halfmoon Soft Triomphe
Expanding on the relaxed silhouettes of the new Triomphe lineup, the Halfmoon Soft Triomphe offers a more compact take on the Besace. Sharing many of the same design codes—supple shiny lambskin construction, a curved flap front adorned with a downsized Triomphe clasp, and a practical zip pocket at the back—this version retains the same effortless drape and casual appeal, but with a more elongated, crescent form. Its soft curves sit naturally against the body, balancing elegance with ease, and it can even be tucked under the arm as an oversized clutch.

Coming in at 18.1 × 7.5 × 3.9 inches, the Halfmoon Soft Triomphe is spacious enough for everyday essentials without losing its slouchy charm. The adjustable, detachable strap extends from 14.8 to 17.5 inches, allowing for both shoulder and crossbody styling. Available in Soft Tan and Black, the Halfmoon Soft Triomphe retails for $3,450.

East West Triomphe Frame
For a semi-structured option within the new lineup, the East West Triomphe Frame Bag brings a touch of polish to the lineup. Crafted from supple calfskin, this elongated design evokes the charm of a vintage vanity case, complete with a gleaming metal framework and petite Triomphe clasp. Inside, a contrast-colored lining—much like the Trio Fold—adds a subtle pop of color, while an interior mirror ensures effortless touch-ups on the go.

Adding to its ladylike appeal is a gently curved top handle with a 3.94-inch drop, ideal for hand carry or resting in the crook of the arm. Measuring 9.7 x 5.5 x 2.4 inches, it’s spacious enough for day-to-night wear. Available in Deep Ivory or Black with gold-tone hardware, the Celine East West Triomphe Frame retails for $4,200.

Small Triomphe Frame
Rounding out the Frame lineup, the Small Triomphe Frame offers a compact reinterpretation of the East West silhouette. Crafted from a mix of Triomphe canvas and smooth calfskin, it blends classic Celine codes with a modern, structured edge. The boxy shape opens to reveal a single main compartment and a built-in mirror, echoing the East West Triomphe Frame bag.

Small but mighty, this design proves surprisingly versatile thanks to its detachable, adjustable strap with a 6.7–12.2-inch drop, allowing for easy crossbody styling. Measuring 4.9 x 4.9 x 4.9 inches, the Small Triomphe Frame is secured with the signature Triomphe clasp and retails for $3,700. For those who favor leather over canvas, the same design is also available in supple calfskin in Black and Syrah – retailing for $3,950.
