Louis Vuitton's Newest $1,590 "Bag" Barely Fits a Lip Balm

Louis Vuitton has long embraced the art of downsizing, shrinking icons like the Speedy, Alma, and Noé into nano proportions. More recently, the Maison has taken things a step further with an entire universe of bag charms, transforming everything from the Alma and Horizon Case to Pharrell’s Shopper Bag into perfectly petite bag charms.

Its latest move is to blur the line between charm and handbag altogether.

The newest addition to the miniature family is the Micro Express Crossbody Bag Charm: part accessory, part micro bag, and perhaps Louis Vuitton’s tiniest statement piece yet. Inspired by the Express bag, which debuted in Fall-Winter 2025, the design translates the slouchy silhouette and Low Key aesthetic into micro proportions. Measuring just a mere 5.1 x 5.3 x 2 inches, the Micro Express Crossbody Bag Charm somehow manages to retain every detail of its full-sized counterpart.

Don’t let its size fool you – the Micro Express is surprisingly detail-oriented. From the tiny zip closure and dual top handles to the detachable crossbody strap and miniature padlock, Louis Vuitton has recreated the original bag almost stitch for stitch. As for what fits inside? Let’s just say you’ll be embracing a strict “essentials only” policy. Whether you hang it alongside its older siblings, or embrace it as a micro statement of its own, Louis Vuitton’s latest offering is sure to get people talking.

And then there’s the price. Retailing for an eye-watering $1,590, the Micro Express sits just below the Maison’s Speedy Nano, which retails for $1,960. For anyone tempted by the design, the Express PM at $4,350 suddenly starts to look like the practical choice – offering the same slouchy silhouette, with plenty of room to justify the splurge.
